Good morning, all! This month should see Monty and Glesni making their return (if all goes well!). I must say that SunnyKate2's last post on the January to March thread is well worth investigating!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

My first afternoon at Dyfi - we stared and stared at the estuary and the sky but no sign of any ospreys. Plenty of red kite were around, and the odd Great black backed gull and buzzards kept us on our toes and binoculars at the ready though!
We did however get the reserve's first recorded swallow sighting this Spring, as a pair flew west in the late afternoon, so that must be a good sign! Down below us, at least two water rail were paddling about in the marsh, and chiffchaff were clearly visible in the trees around the Obs, as well as audible of course, so there was still plenty to keep us amused!

Lovely report, thank you CHOCO! :-*
IMAGICAT
(Still processing as I post.)
"It's a spider but it could be a ghostly bird"... it sorta materialises into a possible bird - maybe because I'm so tired, lol.
I've just started VLC recording, everything A1 including sound. Hope we capture something worth extracting :-) See y'all later.
This is it. Back to sleep now.
Nice to see our large corvids are still appearing!
OK.....what's hiding in the tree? I can't see it very well and it didn't help that the camera started panning out again as I tried to peer at it:
I can't get the stream on VLC, it crashed an hour ago. Now I've got nothing from one link and ? radio from the other...
Now have the picture but sound is cutting out.

No wonder the corvids love this nest so much!
