Bleeding hearts. Retired Mountain Lady; Osprey, RSPB cam, Shower, My wish wordpress
Keith this is truly disturbing news and seems they rewrite the rules to suit them. Its bordering on criminal as an offence to disturb these birds and especially cruel to prevent the birds from even entering their nests. These birds probably will not breed this year will they? It seems birds are only protected up to a point which means nothing at all :(
HAPPY EASTER

JUNE - HAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND ALL.
At present on Main Island in Orkney near to Kirkwall waiting for a ferry to take me to the remote Orkney Island of Flotta. Only sheep and an oil pipeline to keep me company on Flotta but great views.
May not have internet or phone signal on Flotta so i suppose quite some osprey news to come back to next week.
Just heard from Aberfoyle an old friend Yellow OU re-appears on the Cam Nest. Followed her with Bright and Breezy in 2011 when she had eggs with Green DX and then Metal Ring (Male) came in like a viking and sent them both packing. He was a bully.
B & B if you manage to read Remember them all :):) am sure you will never forget that year when we both followed Aberfoyle.
KEITH, I remember Metal Ring and B&B's discussions.
Will try streetwalking Kirkwall and Flotta.
The Oil Terminal Hotel (The only residence on the Island apart from a few crofts) has internet service within the recreation area so can keep up with osprey news on an evening.
The comapny I am working with on Flotta this week sponsored the Osprey - Beatrice and are interested in her travels. Well she has reached the Scottish Border and should be at her nest tomorrow but to her surprise a new pair have taken up residence - I am sure she will see them off or maybe hang on to the male if she fancies him.
JUNE - Totally surrounded by ocean and the fishermen land their catch so plenty a variety of fish to eat.

B&B has a really good memory - me on the other hand, hopeless! I don't keep records and constantly have to look up information if I need to know who a particular osprey is. I find I'm much better with the named ones than leg rings.

Starling, you & me too. How we all miss B&B and her great memory and wonderful sense of humor and love of osprey here on the Gabfest. i'm still in touch with her, but it just isn't the same.

keith, I won't take you literally as you would be sitting on a buoy with ocean all around. Reminds me of the desert island you took us all to :)
Otherwise, how wonderful to be where you are. surely you mentioned this because you know how much I love the ocean and fresh-caught ocean fish or shellfish. Ummmm-um!!
