Two speckled juveniles at Pink Shell nest in Fort Myers, Florida, USA
CARNYX WILD cam for Loch Garten osprey nest
A few years ago the "reason" for a poor quality and poorly lined up picture was no electricity. They got electricity. Now the "reason" is lack of broadband. Operating on generator was better than this.
JUNE - Never mind I am sure the cam will be back soon.
The weather is fine here and I intend a run up the Road to the Ospreys tomorrow (I call the A9 past a few nests the road to the ospreys)including Loch of the Lowes and Loch Garten and a few more we all know. YES - GOLF - OSPREYS - GOLF (Had a late afternoon early evening game today).
Well there has been so much excitement since the eggs were laid at LOTL and Manton Bay.
The highlights have been young birds turning up at various nests mainly Wales.
At Glaslyn the resident female who is missing her partner Orange 11 - who turns up today their son Blue 80 from 2012 and started mating with his mother.
Another male on the Glaslyn nest yesterday that the resident female rejected - Blue CU2 another 2012 from Dumfries and Galloway.
And even better a Kielder offspring Blue 1H landed at Glaslyn on 14 April (This time female) again a 2012 bird.
And a 2012 bird from Tweed Valley intruded at Dyfi Blue CL1 - Plenty of single three year olds around looking for nests.
Hope you dont miss an egg at LG.
Keith if you follow the Road to the Ospreys as far as Loch Garten tomorrow perhaps you will be our eyes and ears to Odin and EJ, for their cam is still blank. You usually have some informative conversations with personnel too that make for interesting reports. So I'm looking forward hopefully to some pictures and chat from you in due time.
I was just reading on Facebook about all the activity at the Glaslyn nest. Scandalous!! :)
Good to hear of all the returning first time young adults. Although I can only be reminded of all the LG chicks we have lost. Very frustrating in the extreme for me and I can't help but wonder WHY?
Interesting early morning view at Manton Bay
JUNE - I thought you would have been on here with news of the first egg at Loch Garten just before 16:00.
Missed the egg yesterday on a trip up north but had popped into LOTL on the way up to Aviemore where the new pairing delivered their second egg.
The egg must be at the edge of the nest as it appears EJ is sitting incubatiing with her rear end over the edge.
Off to LONDON tomorrow for a week - No ospreys or Golf :).
No ospreys or golf? Is that a :) or a :( ????
Well No Golf - No Ospreys maybe a :( - but will enjoy my week in London so a :).
Need a rest as in the last three days have visited five nests and two rounds of golf.
