Good grief! 12 pages yesterday. And most of them about the birds and the bees - or the birds. I'm copying Wattle's post (the last one on yesterday's Update thread) which may throw some light on the topic. (Glad someone asked; I wasn't sure myself but you feel such a twit.....)
From Wattle: Now I've finished chuckling at all the posts, I'll answer the delicate question posed. Generally, birds have just one multi-purpose opening, male and female, both under the tail. The female holds her tail to one side, and the male curls his body forward until there is, well, a 'bum kiss'! It can be lightning fast and still be very effective. ;-) I say 'generally', because male ducks, swans etc can be more elaborately endowed, but females are always the same (I think).
Thank you Wattle, I think..... :-)
Oh, and the LG nest is empty; Marge is at LOTL

Hello Barbara Jean, I have the Roy Dennis book but as yet have not read it. Perhaps if I did I would know more. The way in which Odin has been conducting himself over the past couple of days could mean an egg is imminent.
Margobird
Odin has just come with a huge clump of something, could be moss but not sure. No fish however
Now arranging it while EJ looks on. It looks as though it is attached to his talons. EJ peeping quietly.
Odin now making nest cup bigger.

Tish I laugh out loud each time Odin zooms in for the necessary and now we know what to look for it makes it even more interesting.
Well EJ is still sitting exatly where I left her. Although she looks like she's sleeping and gently squeaking.
Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
Tish Odin just returned for a prolonged bout of mating again and has now flown away.
margobird,
it's a lovely sunny day I should be out in the garden and what er we doing. Sitting writing about every movement they make. Are we daft??
tish sun has just come out here but the wind is freezing so that's my excuse for not being in the gardenl. Don't think we are daft, just dedicated and after all we do have to keep up to date so the people who can't watch know what has been going on.
EJ is intently watching the sky and I can hear a bird peeping. Is Odin or another Osprey doing a sky dance? Her wings a " slightly" mantled
