Hallo all: Off we go for another day. Huh. That's unusual. EJ (I assume) is on the nest; just sitting with her back to the cam.
AQ; Very perceptive of you. Yes, it's 9:57 our time and I think 10 p.m.going to be my "turn in" time for the season - unless extraordinary events are afoot! I love to read in bed and am coming to the end of Alison Weir's The War of the Roses. Even though the outcome isn't exactly a mystery, it's a really great read and have a hard time putting it down.
So, night all. EJ is still on the nest; Odin has been and gone. And these pages are being a tad slow tonight.
Good night Annette. Sleep tight and I hope the fleas have a jolly good bite (as my Dad used to say).

Odin will not help EJ defend against another female. He will only defend against a male intruder.
After all if EJ were to lose then he would just pair off with the winner. They are pragmatic.
In 2004 EJ in her first season was attacked relentlessly each morning by an intruding female. Henry did nothing to defend EJ against her.
In the end a broken egg appeared. It was not clear which osprey had laid the broken egg, EJ or the intruding female. In the event EJ went on to lay three more eggs and eventually fledged three chicks.
Tiger Signature
EJ stretched her wings. Odin has flown in. He's pretending he is not interested - yet. There he goes, another mating. He seems reluctant to leave her back. Picture is frozen, Lots of squeaks.
Odin and EJ are "trying to make babies" just now.
I am borrowing the phrase from yesterday e-mail from Wigtown by Elizabeth Tyndal.
All the signs area right, they are “trying to make babies” as one of the politer young people visiting over Easter put it.
I get my picture back and EJ is alone.
That was a commotion!! An intruder came so close to the nest I could see part of it. Odin & EJ went into to full battle mode! Odin had his wings fully spread out and hit EJ as he was flapping
The intruder interrupted the "chick making secession" and at one point Odin was standing motionless on EJ's back as the intruder advanced toward the nest . And EJ was head up looking for the culprit
Odin left the nest . I suspect to chase the intruder

Thanks, Barbara Jean. I missed all that. I could hear the commotion tho'.
Odin's back. He doesn't like the arrangement of furniture.
Odin is back on the nest now doing some nest work
