Hallo all:

Soosin posted the following about her Saturday and various bird sightings, etc.,  at the very end of the last Daily Update, so I'm copying it here otherwise no-one will see them (she saw mating kingfishers!). And Alan posted some new links, which are also here (Hope that was okay Soosin and Alan).

So, they still seem to be sharing, aahh, how nice. Empty nest looking well padded with moss with  the night vision on it.  Someone mentioned a new blog.  off to read that now. Be out all day again tomorrow. on the hill hoping for Ring Ousel

  • dibnlibYour OH is right we do quite often get dust from the Sahara, usually just after my OH has cleaned it.

  • Hi Margo, No, there is no smell, just dust.  I know what you mean about the Sahara dust, but it is not always confined to the coast.  We once left the car at Heathrow, and when we came home the car was brown, instead of white and it had baked on in the sunshine. The carpark looked more like a scrap yard, as all the cars were all in the same condition and you couldn't see any different colours.

  • Kestrel at Aston University, Birmingham has 4 eggs now:

  • Not confused OG, I can see truck cam man in top left corner, must have started just over the border in Washington, although now in Idaho - there was a movement line yesterday but it’s gone now. Last time I looked in he was bottom left. ;-)  DC was shome mishtake...what did Diane call it? A Brain Fart?  Love the steamer, chaffinch pics, waiting for more please.

Hi Annette, I was wondering that too, about how she picked up the egg, hope someone knows.

  • Hi folks Just catching up after being all day at the final heat of our dog agility winter league.  Beautiful sunny and warm day.  Tweed did 'nuthin'  after his success last week!  We get sahara dust in N Ireland from time to time - usually in unseasonably warm weather.  Don't often get earthquakes, thank goodness!

  • Hi Patriciat sorrry Tweed did not have any success this week.  Maybe just an off week for him.

OG wonder if you can help. We have recently bought a Canon camera. We can upload the pictures to the laptop but can't post them from  the Canon folder, although we can post previously uploaded pictures from another camera. OH has not yet uploaded the Canon software, wonder if this is the cause? Can you or anyone else please help us

I am still learning with mine!  I seem to be having difficulty with the file size of my pictures from the new camera - because the definition is so good, it uses more "space" to store it!  If I find a solution, I will let you know!!  There is a way to make pictures a smaller file size, so if anyone could remind me how, that might help us both!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

re your previous question, dibnlib,  I think you quite often have to download/upload  the software before all the things work for a new camera.

I haven't actually loadeed any Canon software yet!  I just transfer my pics from the SD card into my own picture folders and upload from there - and it works if I crop them or if they are smaller files.

  • <<OG: Marvellous shot from LG - very crisp - (what was that bird?)>>

Annette - LG bird was a Chaffinch - very common, but couldn't resist that photo since it sat in the right place at the right time!

  • Dibnlib - just noticed your comment on Lisi's.  Seems they might have closed - surely if they were going part-time they would be open on Saturday - could understand if not the Monday and Tueaday that we were there.

Will now shut up and give someone else a look-in!
