Start of a new day at Loch Garten

Did EJ fly back to the nest just now? Has she eaten it already? The girl must have been hungry.
Emma yes she is back and probably mutterig under her breath that she would like something larger and also why didn't he tidy up while I was gone.
Margobird
Hopefully now Odin remembers if he wants EJ to stay on the nest so she is available to mate he has to bring her food. She can't do much mating if she is gone fishing
And here comes the red moss!!

Odin now is sitting on the nest waiting for EJ to return I really appreciate the information from everyone. I am on a different time zone and this way I can read what I missed while I was sleeping Great to have sound too!!

I remember this discussion from 2005.
My comment at the time:
That has been the $64,000 question and it is now that it comes home to roost. I guess we will see a full uncensured view of nature. If the chick die I guess that Betty will divorce Dennis. But as I pointed out before, wise female ospreys insist on the fish first!

AUNTIE love the cup digging too, really makes me LOL.
EJ & Odin both on the nest. Odin is closing his eyes off and on and taking an afternoon nap
EJ is chirping to mate and his is napping LOL
Not too many shots of both on the nest together so here they are with the red moss Odin delivered:
There we go - Odin "strikes" again. Must be something in the moss.
Morning all:
Wattle: I don't think that light I wrote about is the dawn sun - a couple of nights ago the nest was brilliantly lit from the west (or thereabouts) long before any light appeared over the hills to the east. The glare at dawn could be the sun hitting the lens. Regardless, it's always good to see the nest and wonderful now that we have sound. Alan: Glad you got your live osprey fix for the near future. Glad Odin has finally got it re bringing fish. Thanks for morning posts and update re new blog.
HI Tiger - going to visit your link now. BUT first, as you said much earlier here is ODIN bringing in the red moss - and I remember EJ doing the same when I joined you all last year (but at egg stage) . You remember well!!
Thanks Alan, great shot.
