Happy Easter all!
OK. So EJ and Odin safely at LG, but what has happened to the LOTL cam. Haven't been able to get anything. It looks like it's going to load okay, then you get just a black screen. Let's hope they get it sorted soon. Margobird said they'd had horrible weather there yesterday, so maybe that knocked out something.
Well, I missed Odin's arrival but thanks to BigRab, there's a video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4EoYaRO6js which I plan to watch myself in a minute.
Busy day here, also amazed to see Trucker cam is now in Albuquerque - boy! does that guy ever cover ground. So I really have to follow him tomorrow (along with you-know-who) because I've driven that road and just love the huge wide horizons. But it's also Easter, so a bit of family stuff going on. Bought some lovely strawberries from the farm down the road and then went to supermarket and bought some naughty cheese (fattening double cream French Brie), mushrooms stuffed with all kinds of yummy stuff and simply couldn't turn down Haagen Dazs's invite to try - "at special introduction price" - new Java Chip flavor with coffee and chocolate chips. Was at Costco earlier and got some great asparagus and Wild Alaska Halibut. So we had a nice dinner, but ice cream still unopened - for now.
Alan German birds seem to use pylons a lot. According to p 177 "Life of Ospreys" there are more than 500 pairs in Germany and increasing rapidly. Sadly we do not seem to that much written about them.
Sweden has 4000 pairs and there is very little literature on them. However last year Pia showed that rather lovely video of the Swedish osprey that could be fed by hand.

Thanks Tiger. I remember watching that video of the osprey being fed by hand. Great stuff.
At LOTL the zoomer has been at it again:
Margobird: Thanks for news about the intrepid Phoebe.
All: Cirrus posted a note from Richard about the possible pine marten sighting (on Daily Update and presumably the main blog).
off for the day.
Have a good day, Annette. Hope you see lots of spring flowers (I'm hoping for some photos, later..)
Thanks to Alan for great photos of the German Ospreys, what a place to nest, but must say it seems ideal from their point of view. Also lovely Osprey close up at LOTL.
Auntie: Wow, what super pics of your Ospreys there, they are great. Thanks for that.

HI Lindybird,
I understand what you mean about Joey helping you through the bad times. Cappuccino did that for me. He used to be very quiet until we got Sydney. Now Sydney is leading him astray and they get up to all kinds of noisy mischief.
Hi hazelwoods it was me talking about Joey. It iswonderful what a pet can do you.
OOps sorry about the mix up.
It's very relaxing sitting on the chair watching tv, with Cappuccino sitting on my shoulder and Sydney on my foot and all 3 of us just about falling asleep.
Before we got Sydney, Cappuccino always sat on my left shoulder, but moved to the right one when watching TV. Now he stays on the left. If Sydney tries to get on the left one he chases him off. It's HIS shoulder.

Catching up. Pine martens? Cameras down? Where would we be without a teeny bit of drama? It is LG after all !!! Thanks to the night owls watching for pine martens. I rather hope you weren't successful.
Overcast 18 C here, expecting 23 and a shower or two [or not]. Inland SA had a deluge. Roxby Downs and Andamooka were very wet!!! Pics showed main street like a river. One taxi was under water to its door handles. Outback roads washed away. Meanwhile on the GBR yesterday they began pumping oil out of the stranded boat. Booms in place in case of mishaps. One report said the captain was more concerned about the rescuers depleting his water & food supplies than the damage to the reef. Yeah right.
hi aquilareen web cam back on and at the moment no sight of the pine marten i saw at 1.00am when watching last night so theres still time for it to show
