Happy Easter all!
OK. So EJ and Odin safely at LG, but what has happened to the LOTL cam. Haven't been able to get anything. It looks like it's going to load okay, then you get just a black screen. Let's hope they get it sorted soon. Margobird said they'd had horrible weather there yesterday, so maybe that knocked out something.
Well, I missed Odin's arrival but thanks to BigRab, there's a video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4EoYaRO6js which I plan to watch myself in a minute.
Busy day here, also amazed to see Trucker cam is now in Albuquerque - boy! does that guy ever cover ground. So I really have to follow him tomorrow (along with you-know-who) because I've driven that road and just love the huge wide horizons. But it's also Easter, so a bit of family stuff going on. Bought some lovely strawberries from the farm down the road and then went to supermarket and bought some naughty cheese (fattening double cream French Brie), mushrooms stuffed with all kinds of yummy stuff and simply couldn't turn down Haagen Dazs's invite to try - "at special introduction price" - new Java Chip flavor with coffee and chocolate chips. Was at Costco earlier and got some great asparagus and Wild Alaska Halibut. So we had a nice dinner, but ice cream still unopened - for now.
auntie how wonderful and thanks for the screen pics, well done.
Margobird
Afternoon all,
Auntie : Great news from Seili. I am glad you can get an osprey fix nearer home.
The weather is again nice today although a little more cloud. We took a trip out to Barnwell Country Park to see if there were any nesting swans. We did find one nest in a known place but there are no eggs yet. The swans were aware of us as they both came gliding across the lake to see what was going on. Also saw 2 pairs of Great Crested Grebes on the lakes. Then returned to the car for a picnic. Off to catch up on the webcams now.
Right, all HW and Shopping done. We went out for lunch and still no camera. I used to be so happy watching the other camera, just updating every 2 mins. but now, after the continuous streaming for the last few years, I find it a pain. Still it does show us the birds are still around. Been catching up with other nests and your chat and that was very enjoyable. I will go and do some gardening now and hope the camera comes back on. Maybe if they solve any camera problems now, it won't break down at those crucial times, like last year.
Auntie, thank you so much for your pics.
2ospreys on nest at LOTL at the moment look as thought they are defending it from intruders. Also saw the male mating with her again.
Thanks Margobird. Here is a snapshot just taken from a German nest I have found:

International falcons nesting calendar has been updated although I believe there is now a 4th egg at Vauxhall , London:

US falcons nesting calendar has also been updated:

Thanks Alan looks like an unusual nesting site. Desparately missing live stream from LG today, not quite the same looking at the still picture.

Thanks Alan good news about London nest after it was not successful last year. they have certainly chosen a very noisy area to make their home.
Morning all: Thanks for pix and posts everyone. Just here for a quick visit as am off to Figueroa Mountain, where the wildflowers are still going strong. For the last two years, I've promised myself I was going to see them and this is the day. Will take camera . More rain expected this weekend; can't believe it!
Tiger: When my daughter and I go shopping in Lompoc, we can see the gantry for the Space Shuttle poking over the top of the hills; otherwise, the only way to see it - and other launch pads - is by taking the train up the coast from Santa Barbara, which goes through Vandenberg and passes right below the buildings. Guess the train had the right-of-way before the base took over and shut down the area.
Alan: Can't believe how pretty those goldfinches are. Thanks to you and others - I had no idea (nothing new there.)
George: Glad your hospital driving days are done. Enjoy the extra time.
Lindybird: At least chocolate isn't one of the Seven Deadlies....
I must really see what's going on with MWSnap, since Hazelwood mentioned a pine marten on the LG nest and it would help to get a shot of whatever intruders are there. Does anyone know if the RSPB records the cam video (which is still down). Take care all.
Hi Annette just to let everyone know Phoebe is expected to lay eggs again soon, she is using another of her nests.
