Happy Easter all!

OK. So EJ and Odin safely at LG, but what has happened to the LOTL cam. Haven't been able to get anything. It looks like it's going to load okay, then you get just a black screen.  Let's hope they get it sorted soon. Margobird said they'd had horrible weather there yesterday, so maybe that knocked out something.

Well, I missed Odin's arrival but thanks to BigRab, there's a video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4EoYaRO6js which I plan to watch myself in a minute.

Busy day here, also amazed to see Trucker cam is now in Albuquerque - boy! does that guy ever cover ground. So I really have to follow him tomorrow (along with you-know-who) because I've driven that road and just love the huge wide horizons. But it's also Easter, so a bit of family stuff going on. Bought some lovely strawberries from the farm down the road and then went to supermarket and bought some naughty cheese (fattening double cream French Brie), mushrooms stuffed with all kinds of yummy stuff and simply couldn't turn down Haagen Dazs's invite to try - "at special introduction price" - new Java Chip flavor with coffee and chocolate chips. Was at Costco earlier and got some great asparagus and Wild Alaska Halibut. So we had a nice dinner, but ice cream still unopened - for now.

  • Hi all. Sue C has just pointed out to me that all the links to other websites that I've posted on the various threads haven't worked.

I've now hopefully sorted the problem so I'd like to apologise to everyone for wasting their time by posting rubbish links!

  • Afternoon Everyone from TI,

Firstly thanks everyone for the chat, links etc. Only just caught up with reading the various threads.

It is a glorious day here with wall to wall sunshine and temperatures rising.

This morning LadyP and I took a trip out to Oakham which has a lot of very nice shops especially for Ladyees. On the way home we stopped off at the Egleton reserve at Rutland Water where we had a picnic and checked in the visitor centre to see if osprey 32(05) was back at Lagoon 4. Unfortunately he was not around so as we did not have a lot of time decided to return home. Now off to take the Thunderdog out for a walk. Catch up later.

  • Afternoon everyone.  A glorious day here in Dundee too.  Steed has gone off to St Andrews on the Harley and I am dotting between the garden and the kitchen catching up with laundry.  Perfect day for drying the washing outside.  Hope everyone else in the UK is enjoying some sunshine too.  EJ is doing some light housework at LG and both Marge and her young suitor are basking in the sunshine at LOTL.  Happy days.

  • Afternoon all - beautiful day here too - warm and sunny. I have been pottering in the garden, with frequent trips to the computer to keep up to date!

Thanks for all the chat, tips, pics ... and of course that brilliant capture & caption,  Tiger!

  • Also been pottering in the garden. Thought I would put on this pic of weeping flowering cherry in front garden:

  • Stunning cherry tree Alan.  You seem to have a lovely garden.    Our cherry trees are not blossoming yet.

  • Lovely pic of your cherry tree Alan .... our cherry trees are only just starting to bud here.

  • Morning all: Nice to hear that the sun has been out for many UK folks today. We have cloudy skies today with showers forecast for tomorrow and a 60% chance of rain Monday. Hope it doesn't interfere with my whale count.  On the way back from Figueroa Mtn yesterday, saw four or maybe five whales off the coast;  one or possibly two "sedate" whales quietly making their way north, then three lively ones a short time after. Had to pull off the freeway to watch the second group, which were blowing and splashing around quite a bit.  Will post photos of wildflowers later.

Alan: Lovely blossoms.  In Washington D.C. the open area between the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, which is lined with wonderful museums, is planted with cherry trees, and the spring blossom show is a major attraction. DC is a pretty town; it was originally laid out by Pierre L;Enfant in 1791, with later tweaks by others. It has lots of wide boulevards and lots of trees and reminds me of Paris (but forgive my bias, really can't hold a candle to Paris). More than anyone wanted to know, right?

Tiger:  I know how EJ feels - I too have had "sticks" when I really wanted "fish."  :-)

Planning slow day to catch up with various magazines, newsletters, sales flyers, etc. Maybe OH will go on grocery mission if I promise to write the list clearly!

  • Hi Annette.  Sounds like its a bit cloudier where you are.  Interesting info about Washington DC.  Look forward to pics of wild flowers later.  I'm off to prepare evening meal.  Catch up with everyone later this evening.

  • Alan lovely picture of cherry blossom, can we perhaps say that Spring has arrived.  We have been in the garden today catching up with things.
