  • Nest.......................what nest ?   If I didn't know better I would swear the snow was nest high !!

  • goodness.  just logged on, read the new blog and looked for the nest.lol   Its STILL snowing.. Don't know how good it is for Ospreys, I know they can cope with the cold but the wind is another story when trying to fish. It is a picture but right now  but I;m really wishing it was more like the one I posted last night.  hopefully this time next week the snow will have cleared and Odin will have returned.  But then, this is LG................................. what will be will be

  • Just went up to glen clova this afternoon. There is a very strong wing and compared to LG a dusting of snow and 3 degress but felt a lot more in the wind..  Came in and took a peek at the nest and just feel so awful for birds and LG staff!!

Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.

  • 7.30 and the projecting post at the rear of the nest has now completely disappeared - ayjaysea you're right about the optical illusion!

I do hope EJ has found some decent shelter......

  • Normal 0 false false false

ayjaysea:   oh sorry SueC    we crossed in the post   going ...  going......

+That is fantastic..  Good shot Jane.   It's so spooky knowing the nest is there but it has merged into the background

  • Oh dearie me, where would we be, without headline writers.

"Staff in a flap after osprey returns"

This must have been written, before, the snow arrived.

  • Hope it's OK to put this pic here - it's just an Ahhhhh pic  Marge sleeping in her nest

  • We started the day with a snow covered nest at LG. Then the snow built up so much that we lost contrast between the nest and the background so it looked like the snow was nest high. Before night fell the snow finally reached and passed the level of the posts to the right of the nest, and finally, if you look at the nest now in darkness with the snow falling horizontally across, it appears to be a fuzzy image of a comet passing through the Asteroid Belt as taken by a NASA probe.

    Strange days.
