HAPPY NEW WEEK AND HAPPY NEW MONTH!
Last week's Chat thread is HERE.
Thursday, March 5, is the Full Moon.
Also,
On March 6, NASA's Dawn spacecraft will arrive at the dwarf planet Ceres. Ceres is the largest object in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
The Dawn space probe will spend several months observing Ceres and sending back the first close-up images of a dwarf planet in our solar system. You can watch the spacecraft's arrival at Ceres on a special broadcast of the Slooh Observatory:
U.K.: Friday 6 March at 6:00 p.m.Eastern U.S.: 6 March at 1:00 p.m.California: 6 March at 10:00 a.m.
Scientists have already detected mysterious bright spots on Ceres and are anxious to discover what they are. INFO
Everyone have a great week!
Good morning, all. Starling, I hope Baxter had a better night?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Clare - He slept for 4 hours last night before he started crying. This is just like having a baby again LOL

Ouch. I remember those days well!
Good morning – dry so far, but dull and cold in the wind, with rain threatened later. Just checked the greenhouse – encouraging to have seeds coming up.
Lynette – well done for increasing the swimming! Thanks for pics and links.
Annette – well done to you and OH too, for getting through all the legal stuff you had been working on. New Salvias sound lovely, and good to have spotted the Lizard, even if it was quite a common one! Good luck with the caterpillar nursery!
Starling – how was Baxter last night? Or should I ask, how was your night? Oh, I see you already answered that one, sorry!
George – “bon voyage” up north! Unfortunately, it looks as if you might get a bit wet.
Ironing calls while OH is out for groceries.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good Morning Everyone Good to say that it is another dry morning, with the sun burning off a mist.
OG, I should imagine the journalist had many "challenges' in her career, especially in her early career, which was dominated by men for so long. Lovely to hear that you have seeds coming up. Spring must be arriving. Our tête à tête have had their small flower heads for over a week now but show no sign of opening yet. Our daffodil are growing very tall but very few flower heads yet. Their are plenty of daffodil flowering along the lanes though.
Starling, You are bringing back memories of having a new pup in the house. Poor Baxter is obviously missing his Mum and brothers/ sisters. Sorry you are losing so much sleep. It should stop shortly :-)))
Annette, Well done spotting your 'unusual' lizard. Pity you didn't have your camera nearby.
Heather, {{ HUGS}} Too much for you to think about, especially at night, when everything seems even worse. I hope you were able to sleep last night.
Need to go food shopping today. I feel we need to change our menu. Trying to think of something different to cook.
OH has been complaining about his little finger hurting and the end joint was bending, for a couple of weeks. It started to swell and look red for the last few days, so he saw the GP this morning. He has just returned home with a splint on the finger - diagnosed as a mallet finger ( tendon injury ). He cannot recall how it happened. He said it was quite strange driving home, with his little finger sticking away from the driving wheel. I guess I could be back to chauffeuring for a while :-))
Morning all. You need to post us some snaps of Baxter Starling. We were so lucky with Tapaidh from night 1 she has gone to bed at 10pm and does not make a sound until I go down at about 6am. She was totally house trained with no accidents at 5 months until she go neutered last week and we seem to have gone back to weeing all over the floor at night. Not sure if she is upset as she is not in her crate at night as she can't turn around with the "cone of shame" on in it. So she has a bed in the open....next week when collar not needed will be the telling point. Will add a snap shortly.
I'm really looking forward to seeing snaps of both Baxter and Tapaidh. I notice Baxter now appears on Starling's avatar - awwww!
HI ALL
Hugs and kind thoughts gratefully received! I need to get a grip and start thinking positively. Its one thing knowing how to deal with anxiety in others but quite another taking one's own advice :-)
The painter is coming on Monday to redecorate the kitchen and adjacent room where we eat and sit on an every day basis. Next Sunday our Danish friends plus 22 year old daughter arrive for five days. We have been waiting for the painter since before Christmas he is always busy.Don't want to put him off so our friends will have to take us as they find us. See, I'm not panicking - yet....
Back later
I bet it will look lovely when it's done, Heather. What colour are you having it?
