I cannot find a new thread for Rutland 2015. Is that right?

EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
I just hope 51 and 30 stay clear of Manton Bay. After last year, I really want the peacefulness to continue and success for Maya and 33.
I'm off for a bit - SYL
An amazing account and so well documented by John's photos. 1997 was the first year I helped on the project so I have more than a vested interest in the outcome. Like Mary I feel we may not have heard the last of this site.

Thanks Karen for the latest link.
Any guesses at which are 1, 2 and 3 eggs. One for the splodgology experts.
I think the highly coloured one is No.3 egg...
This was No.1 egg.... snapped earlier.

Karen, I just thought that you would like to know that there are many nest platforms available. Obviously there are some on the RW reserve, but it is unknown how territorial an established breeding pair would be to the distance of a new pair - I don't know but I think maybe the idea of putting some up nearby will encourage Ospreys to stay around RW. What I do know is that the Project, over the last few years, has actively been setting up nest posts in all the neighbouring counties, Notts, Derbys, Lincs, Northants,Derbys, etc. I think the main aim of the project is for there to be Ospreys in every single county in England, just as it was before Victorian times, but sadly that will not happen in our lifetimes, not even for you youngsters. I don't plan to comment on this forum but if ever any of you have any questions that you think I may be able to answer, please ask. One thing many of you know, I never give out news until it has been made official. I do love some of your comments and I appreciate a lot of them on a daily basis.
Lynda, thanks very much for the info about the nest platforms. I think it is wonderful that the project has been actively setting up nest posts in neighbouring counties. I do truly believe they will fulfill their objective and one day there will be ospreys throughout England.
Also, thanks for your kind offer about any questions we have.
