Hi all!
Hi, all. Busy here, but just wanted to say:
Lindy: That's wonderful news about your OH's test results. I'm so happy for you and your family.
Annette: Sounds like you need some rest. Take care of yourself.
OG: Sending you healing energy for a rapid recovery.
Take care, everyone.
By the way, I had to Google "consumer unit". Here in the rural Midwest, folks would say fuse box, breaker box, or electric box. In my case, my electrical system is very old and subject to all kinds of problems, so I would just use sweary words. :-)
Also, by the way, on Monday a monster asteroid will make a very close approach to Earth. The rock is a third of a mile or half a kilometer across. It will be the closest approach of any known asteroid of this size and brightness until 2027. The Slooh Observatory will be hosting live streaming coverage of the event here. More info is here.
Bit late to read through but just been to a Burns Night Supper organised by one of our local churches which I attend. Great night and although my dancing was rusty I did manage about 3 dances.
Clare - have booked at holiday cottage in Colkirk, Norfolk, so not too far away from Minsmere which we hope to visit whilst staying there. You never know we may bump into Limpy!!

Oh OG, sorry to see that you are not well. Do hope you are feeling better soon. Glad the PM's pronounce you OK. Do take care and keep warm.
Lindybird - that is marvellous news but forgive my ignorance I hadn't realized your OH had had cancer, nevertheless it is heartening news. Just seen your other post - bacon and cheesy potatoes sounds yummy.
Learnt the other day of a friend whose husband has been diagnosed with a very rare brain tumour (malignant) and only about 70 people in the country have it. If he doesn't have treatment he has been given 3 months but of course he is going to have it and hopefully it will slow it down.
HeatherB - meant to tape Wolf Hall, must download it and watch it.
Must admit I have been very lucky and not contracted anything so far. OH had the bad head cold thing and so did Dau but I have steered clear.
Brenda - that meal sounds yummy, good old fashioned fare.
It must be sad when one has to have a beloved pet put down but of course no one wants them to live in pain so it is the best step. Glad you were not called upon Brenda.
OG - glad to read that you are making some progress and have ruled out paracetemol as being one of the culprits. At least now you know not to take it any more. Hopefully you will start to feel a lot better but take care of the sprained wrist.
Have a good weekend all and stay safe and warm paticularly those that are having bad weather.
Good morning all
OG - I'm glad that you have sussed out that you and paracetamol don't agree. As others said, perhaps your GP can prescribe a different type of painkiller. I hope that you feel better, soon.
Stepdaughter's washing machine saga - OH didn't have to attend in the end although he was all ready to go together with a lightweight ( aluminium) ladder. I'm sorry if I sounded like the Wicked Stepmother! Not so, really, I promise, she and I are close. She is, though, very inclined to call upon her dad for things. The other day, when she came with a sheaf of paperwork for him to sort out he reminded her(not for the first time) that he wouldn't be around for ever. He has tried for years to encourage her to think things out for herself before running to him for help but to no avail. It worries OH and I, a lot. Her husband gets impatient with her which is probably why she comes to Dad.
Callum should be on his way home now after his week away. He did overcome his reluctance to go into the hotel restaurant on his own (powerful driving force, hunger!) made a couple of friends and seems to have enjoyed the college work, some of which was practical. He's always happier getting his hands dirty!
