Hi all, welcome to the new week.
Diane, I do hope that you succeed and achieve a decent project. You deserve a substantial pay cheque. I hope your white-tailed, doe deer stays nearby. We did have an unusual experience a few weeks ago, when a stag walked out in the road just ahead of our car. He remained in the middle of the road and then all his 'wives' crossed the road. When they all reached the other side, he trotted off and followed them. It was about 11pm on a very dark country road, with a wood on one side and a farm on the other. The same thing happened about five years ago. I wondered if it was the same stag and how he had survived.
Annette. Pleased that the storm wasn't as bad for you as others had experienced. Hope your cushions weren't damaged. Good job you spotted them. Always sorry for folk who lose their power. A storm can be frightening enough, without the added problem of no lighting or heating. I hope none of your garden plants have been damaged. I could hear something banging in the gales last night. This morning, I could see that a neighbours garden refuse bin had been blown over ( waiting to be emptied this morning ) and half of it's contents were all over the road.I couldn't believe that something so heavy could be blown over.
Lindybird.... Phew what a relief:-)
So good to hear about Matthew, Linda. Besides the physical exhaustion, the mental exhaustion of all the worry, must have been horrendous. I am so glad that you can see that he is now recovering and I hope you get good news from the doctors tomorrow. When he can return home, healthy and fit, will be the best Christmas present for you all. Sleep well tonight. X
Thanks for the update on little Matthew, Lindy - I'm so pleased to hear he's recovering.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks for your news - winter has set in by all account all over the country. Purchased a new cage for our budgies, which came today. As we've got two I felt they needed a taller cage so there is more room to move about and exercise. However it was fun and games when I transferred them - I managed to capture Suki and put her in the cage fine, but Kiki was another matter. Somehow I hadn't got her properly and she escaped from my hand and was on the loose for 4 hrs. Eventually settling on the barometer and I managed to grab her. Now both safely in cage. Whew!!!!
Todays pic from Florida - Harriet sitting. 8 days to go before hatching is due.

Sorry, meant to say , have a good weekend all.
Annette - hope you haven't been affected by the awful weather and power cuts.
Lindy - nice to hear your grandson is improving.
Diane - hope you soon get some more work - the housework will have to wait then!!
Strange messages on this site some days, threatening abruptly that I do not have permission blah blah. New changes don’t indicate which threads I’ve read. I haven’t noticed any major probs but then I haven’t time to browse as I would once.
Linda – I hope Matthew makes a speedy recovery.
Annette – Hope you escape the storms.
Summer has returned today 35 C with 10% humidity. Night was cool, so house is still comfortable and no need yet for air-con - maybe later in afternoon. I am weary after more than 8 hours helping Dau2 yesterday. OH’s turn was Thurs (he is still recovering). Poor wee J is suffering badly with reflux. Paed doc was supposedly booked out til May (!!!!!) but a message from Dau this morn that she has an appt before Xmas. 2 days booked with Dau next week. I shall do the barest minimum cleaning for Xmas Day, just concentrate on food. Already have the custard – in a carton ready-made. How my standards have slipped! Babes are more important.
