Hope you all enjoyed your extra hour in bed!
Hello All - Wrote a long post on here yesterday and it refused to send it so I really felt that I could not write it all out again.
Was up really early today to get the sitting room ready for the double glazing firm to arrive and put in replacement double glazing. I last had it done about twenty years ago and it has developed a lot of condensation between the glass. I have large windows on two sides of the room and I am slightly nervous about the flowers underneath. I have lovely roses and large clumps of sisyrinchiums and other plants as well so I hope they do not get trodden down too much. I cut the roses back and nearly dug up the sisyrinchiums but thought better of it and am hoping for the best! When the men arrived it was raining but now it has cleared up thank goodness. The lady I spoke to on the phone said that the job would take 5 hours but I really do not think it will take that long.
I have just been out in the garden to watch large flocks of geese flying south. I hear their honking noise, it is really quite loud and I dash outside to watch. At this time of year, they are flying right over the house most days, it is a lovely sight. It really is autumn now, I might try and post some Autumm pictures I have taken.
My oldest Grandaughter is 24 today, I can hardly believe she was born all those years ago, I remember the day so vividly; I had just got in from work when my son phoned with the news, he was so thrilled but sounded utterly worn out with the stress as it had been a long labour with emergency caesarean section at the end, he was present at the whole experience. Daughter-in-law must have felt more exhausted though! Anyway, today Grandaughter has a day off work and her mother, brothers and other Grandparents are all going down to Southampton to spend the day with her. Wish I was going to be there too.
RITA - We love to hear the geese as they fly south,we always do the same as you and try and see them. You have given me another plant to look up (sisyrinchiums) I am sure that you will get a full report about the birthday celebrations, I would be like you, wishing to be there.
ANNETTE - Thank you for more pics, I looked at them earlier today when my eyes were not quite open, so will go back later. And AQ - Thank you for more info regarding your latest trip. Yes, the place names are fantastic!
OG - It seemed to be raining all night and I was thinking about your daughter's house. A tiny wee speck of damp showed on our spare bedroom ceiling :-(( We haven't as yet had the bill so will be phoning the roof man asap. Obviously he didn't do the job as well as we had hoped. I hope that you will feel less tired soon. A lot of people with your health issues would just sit around and do nothing. I think you are marvellous, refusing to be beaten. I'm not sure that I would be as determined.
BRENDA - I also had a lot of shoes and handbags bought to go with wedding outfits, etc. I finally bit the bullet and got rid of them but have held on to one matching handbag, goodness knows why. Not long now and it will go to the charity shop. I can proudly say that the hats went there a LONG time ago!!
MARGO - Thinking about you, hope all is OK xx
EVERYONE - Hope you are OK.
CONGRATULATIONS to all concerned - I hope Tomasz likes him!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good afternoon all and once again more good news. Consultant visit this morning and blood test of yesterday showing a slight increase in all levels and a slight decease in calcium level. I will not need to have a bone marrow test for the time being as with almost normal blood levels it is proof that there is nothing untoward going on. i had been slightly worried that they would suggest a break from the chemo but that is not going to happen as they think I would probably start going down hill again very quickly as I did before. The chemo will continue and hopefully the prognosis I received 6 months ago will improve. I am now OK,to have my flu jab. Next appointment in 5 weeks time to get back into sync with chemo sessions.
It has been a glorious day here and very mild. Billie had a good roll around on the patio and is on her chair in the consevatory fast asleep. As soon as the sun goes down she will come in and decide where she wants to sit in the front room.
Limpy you must have been thrilled to bits to be able to take the photos.
Brenda I hate the dark evenings, I al ways feel tired when the clocks go back for about a week. It is the time of the tear when the birds leave early afternoon and always miss their chattering. It was very damp underfoot here this morning but uo to now the sun has been shing but since I started this cloud is rolling in. At least you will have been to the hairdresser in the dry.
Annette your description and pictures from the 9/11 memorial are very poignant. The horror of that day is beyond imagination The devastating coverage of that day is something the world will never forget. We were on holiday in Sicily at that time and had come back to our hotel. We switched on the TV and to begin with thought it was a film but it soon became clear that it was not and we could not believe what we were seeing. We had been on a guided tour round some catacombs with some Italians who lived in New York and had very kindly translated into English what the Italian tour guide was saying. This was all before the event and they had told us that a lot of the family lived in New York. We have often thought of them and wondered did they loose any of their family.
Your second batch of photos are lovely, love that house and was the lake the view you had from it. Ms D is delightful and no sleepiness obviosly there.
AQ enjoying your tour with pics. As Brenda says some lovely sounding names.
Lindybird you must be looking forward to some peace and quiet again, hopefully it will end by the end of the week. What little cuties those kittens are. I would love to,have more cats bit I don't think Billie would agree to that. As far as she is concerned we are hers and no one else is allowed lol. Hope there will be some news of a new grandchild soon.
Heather can add my OH to the list of hoarders. He is a shocker, even items that are broken and no longer working find their way into the garage. The worst thins though are junk mail which might be worth reading, in my mind no junk mail is worthy of being read and various leaflets he collects and never reads. In all other respects he is just about perfect. Pleased to read that Sheana was a little brighter. Hope the roof will be fixed properly.
OG I agree with Heather that you accomplish so much when you consider all your orobkems. I admire you for being so strong in the face of adversity. Have been thinking about your daighter and her house again after seeing how much rain has fallen in parts of Scotland over the past few days,
Rita do hope your plants will not come to any harm. Must be lovely to hear and see the geese, a real sign of Autumn. It is a shame you are not able to share your granddaughter's birthday. As they are ending are spending the day in Southampton I image some retail therapy will take place in the huge shopping centre they have there.
Take care all.

Lindybird said:Thanks OG!! Apparently he looks a lot like me ( poor little mite!) but with lots of dark hair.
Lindybird congratulations all round, I was busy wittering on and have just seen your posts.
CONGRATULATIONS LINDY !!!
CONGRATS TO LINDY!!
MARGO: More good news from you - fabulous! Brought a smile to my face.
AQ: Love that street art in Borden and the hieroglyphics on the Bluff. Narrogin looks like such a pretty little town.
Have read everyone else's posts and news and glad most are doing well. Hope home projects, leaks, etc., aren't too much of a problem.
Off to the garden for some serious rethinking of fall planting options!
