This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Aug 2012-Sep 2014
The scope - following the travels of tracked ospreys "not from Loch Garten", either originating in the UK or overseas.
Can I ask for some help in starting off the thread. If you are the first person to post about a bird in the restarted thread, can you please give the name of the project which is tracking it, and supply a link to the project website.
Many thanks - Sue
UV will be waking up in west Africa thinking "What will I do today just to confuse those people tracking me".
Tiger Signature
Jaydee - A very interesting bird - I wonder how long he will stay near to Dakhla on Western Sahara coastline. From images I think an osprey could survive here given enough fish and probably the bay will provide that.
Tiger are you aware of any ospreys wintering in Western Sahara or do they move a bit further south on to Mauritania.
Morven in one of the most northern tagged that springs to mind without checking wintering approximately 100 km north of Noukchott and probably 200 km south of where UV is at present.

Shows it can be done. 57375 was around 200 km north of UV's location. No bets though!
Thanks Jaydee for the latest updates, you will be on tenderhooks waiting on the next updates. UV's first migration is one that will stick in the minds of many osprey lovers, as it has been one of those very interesting journeys.

Many thanks for this Tiger for 57375 - I will note this.
Jaydee (Many Thanks) explained on her blog that UV was a lttle further south of Dakhla than I first thought in The Bay of Cintra.
Here is more on UV at Cintra
UV is certainly giving us an education in Geopgraphy as well as keeping us all anxious.
I have enjoyed your blog and also enjoyed researching the area around Cintra Bay - not a highly populated area but a great area for wintering birds and interesting the monk seals and turtles that frequent the bay.
Kielder UV is still at Cintra.
Thank you jaydee, also thanks to Paul. These updates are amazing, such detailed information!
