This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Aug 2012-Sep 2014
The scope - following the travels of tracked ospreys "not from Loch Garten", either originating in the UK or overseas.
Can I ask for some help in starting off the thread. If you are the first person to post about a bird in the restarted thread, can you please give the name of the project which is tracking it, and supply a link to the project website.
Many thanks - Sue

Well the news was bad but not because he did not find Rothiemurchus. He only got as far as the ferry when there was a problem with a broken down truck. This held things up so much that he never got to the area where Rothiemurchus spends his winters.

Its getting late in the year and i wonder if either of them will head further South? There must be plenty of fishing oppotunities and also i imagine not much competition from other ospreys! Interesting to see what happens later!

This is the first time we have seen an osprey overwintering in Morocco as far as I am aware.
However there is no reason why they shouldn't as Morocco does have ospreys that reside there. See Ospreys in Morocco

[/quote] I did read Chris's report about the bother with the ferry Tiger, and replied to it too. He is gutted like we are too, but he will hopefully find him in February. At least he has seen White UR as well as 5F plus lots more and another Scottish bird, so he is seeing plenty of Ospreys but just not the one he really wanted to see. Kielder UV has moved from stopover, now in Western Sahara
WooHoo JD, this is excellent news, despite my thinking he was going to stay put in Portugal. He clearly knows what is expected of most osprey, a place in the African sunshine!

Thanks jaydee - what a shock, I really thought he had made Portugal home. I will keep everything crossed for him.

I hope he manages as well in Africa as he has in Portugal. What a surprise Fly well young man
Very sad news. Lonaig has died
Not Good News Alan.
Apaarantly the other two tagged ospreys from Aberfoyle this season never made it either never getting out of the UK.
