This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Aug 2012-Sep 2014
The scope - following the travels of tracked ospreys "not from Loch Garten", either originating in the UK or overseas.
Can I ask for some help in starting off the thread. If you are the first person to post about a bird in the restarted thread, can you please give the name of the project which is tracking it, and supply a link to the project website.
Many thanks - Sue
Alan P - Some retreat by Samuel (Very Interesting)- if he had been caught in a sandstorm he may have been in some difficulty from the position you previously showed him prior to his turnaround.
Unknown said: Thanks Jaydee - It is over 6 weeks since UV crossed into Portugal and has been around this area nearly for 6 weeks. It is quite a relatively long stop over if that is so but wondering if he is going to stay or move to Africa. Good to hear 7H is fine also.

Yes, Keith, UV has been there since 15 September and I wouldn't bet on him moving on. So tomorrow the e-mail will show him heading south!
Birgit moves on after a long stay in Holland:
Update on Kielder 7H in Morocco still.
Birgit flies on through Germany and Switzerland. Now in Italy heading for the Med:
Tero near Lake Van in eastern Turkey heading for Iraq:
Alan
The Finnish site must have been updated for the above two birds.
Birgit crossed the Med on 25th/26th and is now in Algeria.
Tero is just north of Baghdad - my guess is that he winters in the Gulf.
Tero's map very fascinating. Who says that we know where ospreys go?See Tero's map

Thanks Sue C and Tiger. Tero has certainly kept us guessing as to where he will finally winter, It certainly looks like it will be somewhwere around the Persian Gulf
Kielder also very interesting but early days.
I come out in the sun and sleep when it gets dark
