I'm starting a new DU whilst wondering if it is one day too many. We have no ospreys remaining at LG (though Odin has not officially left*) and already a possible loss. Having calmed down since reading that dreaded word "perished", I am putting the emphasis on "possible" and will wait with the rest of my LG friends for a final verdict.
The sky is beginning to lighten over Loch Garten.

WendyB and Lmac, my apologies. I always manage to miss someone when I thank everybody for their contributions and this year I missed you. I didn't mean to!

I miscalculated, CHLOE, thinking that the migration date would be the first day that the bird was not seen - so Odin has not set a record for himself. Oh well, I tried ;-)
I've been having enormous trouble with the forums tonight.

What a red morning!
Is that crossed sticks I see ????????????????????
towards the right
My thanks too for everyone's wonderful contributions without which I would have missed this great season completely
Looks like crossed sticks to me Cirrus!
The sticks have hardly moved in 2-3 days, no more than the wind can account for.
Yesterday, shortly after noon, there was a tweet from LG:
As you can imagine, I searched thru the video but found nothing - however, the cam hadn't come back on until 1035hr (it had gone down the afternoon beforel) so either the event took place during down-time or the intruders didn't actually land on the nest - and it certainly looks as though they didn't, there's not a stick out of place :-/
I've asked about it on FB.
SYAL :-)
When I saw that tweet yesterday, I thought I bet Scylla still has her video running and checks it out! Thanks for looking, Scylla. Hope they have the sound sorted out for next year, then we may at least hear some of these events!
