Evening all: It's 3:30 a.m. UK time. All quiet at the nest. Sunrise in Edinburgh will be at 5:57 a.m....
I feel so sorry for EJ sitting there all on her own. Silence makes it worse though!!! There isn't even a passing crow or something for company!! Then again she's maybe glad of the rest after her mammoth journey!
Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
I've also got the live video of the Estonian Eagles on my screen Tish so I can hear passing geese and crows!! I pretend it's Abernethy forest birds I can hear. LoL :)
Cirrus Oh thank you it was a pleasure to write.
It looks as if I may not have a recording of Ollie as I thought he featured in either "Bird in the Nest" 1994 or 1995. Sadly he didn't.
However I do know that he featured on "Birding with Bill Oddie" in June and July 1997. I do remember the programmes but for some reason do not seem to have recorded any of it. So I guess someone somewhere will have a recording.

Cirrus This blog from May 2008 really follows on from Tiger's "history lesson" earlier. The story is told in more detail in Roy Dennis' book "A Life of Ospreys".

Anyone else think the camera is at a better angle this year.
Although after saying that it probably won't be too long before there's something we can't quite pick up and will be complaining lol
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan
SueC I hardly know what to say after that read. EJ does not seem to have had a happy life. Long live ODIN.
Morning all!. :-)
Tiger: What a lovely story about Ollie; I shall have good feelings every time I see his name from now on. Wonder where he went.
Cirrus: The first link to EJ's arrival is the one Teresa had on Richard's blog s257.photobucket.com/.../Teresa__1945
The following one is the address that came up at the top of my screen after I'd followed the link. You might want to try it; just copy an paste both lines as they appear below into the "address" space.Good luck. And thanks again Teresa. http://s257.photobucket.com/albums/hh223/Teresa__1945/?action=view¤t=EJarrivesatLochGartentrimmed.flv
EJ is good at nestwork mind you.
Nest before EJ arrived
Nest today
Hello Annette I expect you know that it is Marje by now and she is just wonderful. they estimate that she is probably 25 years old now and were not sure that she would be back this year. Saw her a litte while ago and you can see she has been busy refurbishing the nest.
I have still to see EJ live but no doubt I will catch her soon as I can see she has been busy too.
Have a good weekend.
Margobird
Tiger: EJ can come to my house and clean up anytime. Margobird: Stick around; EJ isn't going anywhere for some time; hope you see her "live" soon. Off for breakfast with daughter; back later. Enjoy!
