Daily Update, Saturday, March 27 2010

Evening all: It's  3:30 a.m. UK time. All quiet at the nest. Sunrise in Edinburgh will be at 5:57 a.m....

  • Tiger thanks for the captures which clearly show EJ has already been busy.

Hello to all have just caught up with weekly chat and now reading through daily chat.  All interesting observations of what EJ is doing and loved the stories of other great ospreys.  I still haven't seen her but don't think it will be long before I do.  All we need now is our handsome, best fisher catcher Odin.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

    Margobird

  • Many thanks to both Teresa (for a wonderful video) and Tiger  for the comparison  snaps - amazing, isn't it ? in just 24 hours.

And I've yet to see Marge Margobird - so fortunate you. I think, until Odin arrives I'm a little concerned at missing his arrival if I spend too much time at LOTL. . The time will come!

Margobird - I've just seen Marge !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and managed to catch my comment here whilst Edit was still available. Happy girl that I am .   :)

And I reckon EJ must be away fishing as she's been away quite a long time now.

  • I remember Henry and his 'murderous mood'.....he went down in my estimation .

Tried BBC link but it didn't work?

Tiger...of course Henry was a good dad and OVS (I remember him from 2008), but what is it they say about 'kissing frogs'. EJ has just been looking for Mr. Right. LOL

I am just back from LOTL and Marge is settling in well and I have seen Mr.Goshawk. I am now on my way to Lily's den to see her and the cub.

Ah Maureen remember how Henry had to lay down the law? See http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_6650000/newsid_6657300/6657369.stm?bw=bb&mp=rm

  • EJ has been gone for so long! Does everybody think she's gone to roost elsewhere for the night? Maybe close enough to keep an eye on the nest?

  • Cirrus

Have you seen the baby bear yet???

You can just type in Lily's den and search....will take you there.

  • Wouldnt be surprised, Cirrus.  Think they seem to prefer a branch normally, when not nesting.

  • Still can't get away with how well EJ and Madge lookl.  I arrived home last week after a 7 hour flight where I was fed and watered regularly . I was shattered and looked it-  certainly didn't start the housework  : )  lol

All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

Would you say that 'our' Ospreys are a good advert for having plenty of fish oils in their diet?? LOL

  •

LOL, Maureen, so thats what the difference is,?? doh

Had a keek in at Lily earlier, just lovely. Thats something else we could learn from the animal kingdom.  Go to our den, hibernate for the winter and wake up in the spring, with a family. Simple, -  Where did we go wrong.??
