WEEKLY CHAT (Non Osprey) SUNDAY JUNE 1 2014

Happy New Week all.

  • Brenda - It was indeed lovely to see our Eldest settled in their new abode - they have had a difficult time ever since they met, as they met at a friends wedding and after initial attraction, found that they lived at opposite ends of the country!  Then they did a lot of travelling before moving in together. Now they have a nice home where they can settle together at last, and raise their family. We are so pleased for them.

  • Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Also plenty of the Red Kites around - this one flew right over our heads.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Lovely study of the red kite, OG.  And of course, great pics of the ospreys!!!  :-))

  • Love the photos, OG!  I'm so glad you had a great time.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Glad you enjoyed your Osprey afternoon OG, lovely pictures!

  • Hi all and thanks Annette for starting us off.

Been a glorious day here too.

OG - super photo's of your visit and glad you enjoyed it.  Great one of the red kite.

Rita - hope you are all fixed up now, but yes, waiting for a bill for that amount of work!!!! do hope its not too horendous.

OH has a busy week whilst I stay at home but that's how it goes.

  • Evening all: Long, long day working in the garden, but got lots done.  Some plants are looking a bit stressed what with the decreased water so will send whatever rinse water their way.

Margo: Saw the news about the nurse on the BBC website.  :-(  Hope you're doing okay.

Lindybird: Sounds like your Eldest and fiancee made a good choice with the new home - how far is it from you?   Interesting your camellias are blooming now; ours flower between November and February.

Brenda: Also saw the news about the car rally; my sister and B-in-Law used to do a lot of rally driving in their pre-kiddie days.  That road looked awfully narrow so not much room for spectators.

Rita:  Bummer about the car; sorry you missed the plant sale, did the Auto folks give you a ride home?  Hope it won't cost too much to fix it.

OG:  We had an osprey down by the waterfront the other day; someone managed to get a shot of it. The only ones I've seen here were at Lake Cachuma.

    Hi Lynette!

ISS is passing over this week, must pop outside and take a look later. Have a good Monday everyone.

  • Good morning, all!  What a good week we had in our garden last week - after not seeing them for a while we have had visits from goldfinch, long-tailed tits and a beautiful female great spotted woodpecker!  I'm very happy.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning - Cloudy but warmish, here. Had a hot night, where we both tossed & turned a lot. Annette - Of course, I was having a senior moment when I said ' camellias' which have long been & gone : I meant peonies!! Clare: Great that you're getting a good variety of birds in the garden again. Hope Limpy is enjoying himself!
