HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's chat thread is here: http://www.rspb.org.uk/community/placestovisit/lochgartenospreys/f/915/p/111650/864936.aspx#864936

Everyone have a wonderful week!

Here's an extraordinary new discovery! Even if you aren't interested in the science, scroll to the bottom of the article and watch the video at the end. It's truly breathtaking. Seriously, I don't think I breathed for the entire 5 minutes. By the end, I was getting dizzy. The building is the new under-construction Shanghai Tower.

  • Good Morning ALL.  We are going to meet our son & wife, plus our daughter. ( her boyfriend is working) at Camber Sands beach. They want to get out of London while the sun shines.

Heather, Our decorator hasn't turned up. He was working on a Chelsea flower show project but assured us that it would be finished and he would return to us last Wednesday !! We assume he is at Chelsea but he hasn't bothered to let us know. He is not going to get a good reception when he does appear. OH is fuming.

AQ, Surely those poor twins would have been seen on the normal scans. I really do hope they don't live.
I did laugh at your hysterical laughter at what the future may be after your daughter's twins are born. I do wonder how jealous LM may feel. She does get so much attention from you all at the moment. On the other hand she may be so thrilled when the twins come home.

Linda, Enjoy your lazy day in the garden. Truthfully, I would prefer to do that, rather than  battle with the traffic, to meet the children plus dog.

  • With the Newark by election fast approaching we are ordering 25,000 A6 leaflets to vote the Tories out:

  • This week Stop the Cull supporters have leafleted 2,200 Don't vote tory flyers in the key marginal of Cardiff North. 3,300 homes have now received leaflets in this constituency. During the 2011 Welsh Government elections nearly 10,000 flyers urging voters to not support parties intent on a badger cull were put through doors in this constituency. The Tories lost this key seat to Labour who won a majority and abandoned the badger cull in Wales.

  • Morning all:

Heather: A choice between two new babies and a sleepy old dog and a guinea pig who likes to hide out in the hay?  Ha!  Need you ask?

Alan: Good luck with the elections.

    Diane: Are you okay?

  • Excellent news that St Johnstone beat Dundee United in the Scottish Cup Final. Always like to see United lose.

  • I had an hour or so in the garden, but then did some weeding and we have just come back from a visit to my sis-in-law. She is virtually running a "dog sitting" service now, as she missed Nessie so much that all her village now know that she's willing to help out if they need someone to leave their dog with for an hour, or a day or two!! She's had labradors, cockerpoodles, retrievers, pugs, you name it!!

Brenda - Sorry the decorator hasn't turned up - we were fuming as we had asked an electrician to do something and when he was held up by some other matter, the other day, he didn't let us know he couldn't do the job! They don't seem to have very good customer relations these days.

  • New kettle works a treat, by the way: we got a bright red one which looks cheerful and we're relieved to find that it pours well ( which it should, of course, being a kettle, but these days even jugs don't seem to be made to pour without dribbling - sorry, rant over!)

  • Constant feeding going on in the nestbox:

  • That's a beautiful snap, Alan.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

    Diane: Are you okay?

Hi, Annette. Yup, I'm okay. Thanks for asking. I'm just totally overwhelmed right now -- what with yard work, housework, and trying to scare up enough freelance work to keep body and soul together. I hope you have a good time pet sitting. I know you enjoy the guinea pig. Are they staying at your house? Hope Lightning and the doggie are amiable. I hope you stay safe; I've been seeing the dire conditions in California (horrific drought, heat, and fire).

Hello to everyone and best wishes to all who are enduring illness and hardship.
