Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey Topics), 4 May 2014

HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's chat thread is here: http://www.rspb.org.uk/community/placestovisit/lochgartenospreys/f/915/p/111494/862342.aspx#862342

The site is playing up today, so I'm not going to write much. I'll just wish you all a wonderful spring week!!!

Enjoyed a Sunday morning swim.. I had trouble with the site yesterday. It kept on saying error when trying to post, but posted all the same!!!!

    Me too!!
  • Hope OG and EEye have enjoyed their day. We have had quite pleasant weather: yesterday was better than the forecast, and today has been mainly bright if a little chilly at times. I keep coming on here to keep up to date with everyone's goings on, and then meaning to do detailed replies but I just have not had time! Sorry if I don't mention you all, but be assured that I have read and digested every post! (LOL my tablet just put 'boost' instead of post!!).

My OH's eye is healing well but he is a grumpy patient. I go with him to the Allotment and do the watering in the greenhouse at present as he's not supposed to bend down, nor lift heavy things. He is doing crosswords & sodukos and falling asleep then watching some of the snooker finals. I did some gardening this morning whilst he wasn't watching as I like to prune by myself: he always claims I don't do it harshly enough but then when he does it, its like watching a murder commited! ;-).

  • Cannot remember If I asked, or just meant to ask, Does anyone know if there is still a live webcam on Gloria, the Goldeneye?

A friend posted these on facebook. She has lived on Yell for a few years now. Spiggie is where we often used to walk.

    This one is Spiggie

  • What beautiful pics, dibnlib.   Really lovely.

There should still be a webcam for Gloria:  I havn't watched her lately, but see that she was mentioned in the last official Blog as having laid a nice clutch of eggs and covered them up with a feather duvet.

Just had to sign in yet again <sigh>     -  and I'm having computer trouble, so if I go off suddenly, I shall have to let you know by other means (you still there on the phone, Brenda?? LOL!)

  • A mostly wet day, so nothing major going on here, just little bits of small things indoors and out.  Also been catching up on some recorded TV - mostly things with a Scottish flavour (Clydebuilt, Landward, Beechgrove).  No special plans for Bank Holiday Monday - probably more of the same - and treating the grass if the morning is as dry as it should be, because it will rain again later.

    Best wishes to all.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good Morning, Everyone. A quiet night on here. Sunny skies for us today, we may do some more gardening but don't think it will be warm enough to sit outside. Going to a birthday party at teatime for a 94 year old: tea and cake, yum!
  • Lovely start to the day - gardening definite for us.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Glad to hear its not wet like yesterday for you, OG. Bank holidays are strange now we are retired: a bit like having 2 Sundays together but we tend not to go out too much if its going to be crowded, as we can do things during the week.
