HAPPY NEW WEEK!!!

It's almost spring! I have never been so glad to see spring in all my life!

Last week's chat thread is HERE. The code for this week's thread is WC090314.

Many of you may remember Carl Sagan's popular Cosmos television series. The program is returning, hosted by handsome and charming nerd scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it promises to be astounding! The new show, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey,  will explore the wonders of the universe using cutting edge technology, advanced animation, and new modes of storytelling.

The new Cosmos is expensive and wildly ambitious. It will be broadcast in 170 countries and in 45 languages, the largest global opening for a television series ever.

In the U.K.: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast by U.K. National Geographic Channel

In the U.S.: The show premieres this Sunday (9 March) at 9:00 p.m. and will be simulcast on the National Geographic Channels and the Fox network channels.

In Australia: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:30 p.m. on Australia National Geographic Channel

I couldn't find the information for France. Sorry!

You can get more background information in this article. I highly recommend this series.

  • Good Morning ALL. A very foggy morning here but the sun is now trying to burn through.

Heather, If you have found a butter knife in the washing machine, have you found any missing socks in the dishwasher ??  As my children both work long hours, they have cleaners, who do their housework. I think it could be the answer for Margo and stop her worrying about her OH.

Diane, Our broadband is finally settled , thank you. Speed has trebled.

Margo, I see you managed to post yesterday. That is a step forward to how you felt on Monday. I will be in touch. X

I did laugh ( sorry ) at OG and Heather's OH having gardening Ouch days. I must remember that one.

Off to look at Limpy's photographs. The one on this page looks very promising.

  • Good morning

Thank you LIMPY, I must admit that I wondered at first if the Snake was a typo but of course, I should have known better!

MARGO I hope you weren't offended by my post last night, I know that you worry so much about your OH having to multitask. I just thought that having some help in the house/garden might give him more time to spend with you, doing the things that you both enjoy. I hope I didn't come across as being flippant, or worse, not appreciating what you are both going through. (On second thoughts, you know me quite well, always looking for practical solutions).

Duller here today, OH is bowling and I must put my thinking cap on and organise food for him while I am in Elgin. It usually runs along the lines of 'fridge, second shelf down, left hand side and this is what you do with it'.

  • BRENDA - Crossed posts!! I'm glad that your children are sensible and get housework done, I probably should have done that in the past. I was SOOO bad tempered at times, muttering things like 'This ship has a captain but no crew'. However,my children seem to be reasonably (!) well balanced individuals so I couldn't have done them too much harm and my son and daughters all knew how to iron, cook and sew on buttons by quite an early age. My son demonstrates an awesome ability to cook and clean (lucky wife) but that could be down to his Air Force training rather than anything he learnt at home. DIBNLIB will probably agree---

  • BRENDA - No socks in the dishwasher YET. Watch this space.
  • Heather, I always managed the HW when my children were young but my ironing did suffer greatly. I did, quite happily, have it all picked up and returned all neatly folded and OH's shirts on hangers. I did keep this up for years until we moved house. There are times, even now, that I think that I would like to start that arrangement again, LOL

  • BRENDA Oh bliss, I hate ironing and would much rather read a book.

  • Morning all: Quick look in as busy couple of days before GD and Ms D arrive Saturday.

Heather: We've lost a pair of scissors that we kept on a hook in the garage; have searched high a low. If you find them (dishwasher/washing machine, fridge, etc.), please return them.  I think housework help for Margo and her OH sounds like a brilliant idea. I've thought of it myself a times coz i hate it so much, but then I'm so darn thorough I doubt I'd trust anyone to do as good a job.  :-(    My bro-in-law has always helped my sister do housework, long before women's lib and he's ex-Air Force too.

Brenda: Did a bunch of ironing last evening, but have to have something on TV to watch so it's not so painful.

Limpy: Nice shots; I'm sure the critters at Minsmere must know you guys very well by now.

I tried to log onto to the LoTL site last night but got a "couldn't load" message.....

Hallo to Rita and everyone; have a good day.

  • Limpy, Well done on the bittern photographs but if I pick a favourite, I do like the otters the best.

  • Margo, sorry to hear that blood counts are down and that you may have to go through chemo again. All we can all do is keep you in our thoughts and hope that things will improve in due course.
