Many of you may remember Carl Sagan's popular Cosmos television series. The program is returning, hosted by handsome and charming nerd scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it promises to be astounding! The new show, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey,  will explore the wonders of the universe using cutting edge technology, advanced animation, and new modes of storytelling.

The new Cosmos is expensive and wildly ambitious. It will be broadcast in 170 countries and in 45 languages, the largest global opening for a television series ever.

In the U.K.: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast by U.K. National Geographic Channel

In the U.S.: The show premieres this Sunday (9 March) at 9:00 p.m. and will be simulcast on the National Geographic Channels and the Fox network channels.

In Australia: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:30 p.m. on Australia National Geographic Channel

I couldn't find the information for France. Sorry!

You can get more background information in this article. I highly recommend this series.

  • Hi OG, it all has to be done at some time.   Do mine on line sometimes but dau is taking me after church on Sunday as she is tied up with folder work on Sat.  I don't particularly like going on a Sunday but needs must.  As to the garden, still have not been out in it doing some tidying up, misty first thing but by the time we came out of the gym it was bright sunshine but quickly clouded over again late afternoon. I promised myself that I must try and get out and do something about the garden, sooooooooooooon.

Oh HeatherB, how did a butter knife get in the washing, the mind boggles,  ha ha.

Went to the gym again today, wow twice in a week and its becoming regular, mind you not for long once envigilating starts again.

  • Latest from the Commons debate:

219 votes for the motion to stop culling badgers and only ONE vote to continue culling badgers

Tory whips told members not to vote cos they knew they would lose. What a load of cowards.

Annette, The LoTL camera is temporarily down for adjustments etc (13. 3 2013 ) Still down at the moment.

Out of 650 MP's, only 220 bothered to vote. Interesting to see how the 220 figure breaks down into their individual party.  Here is how Parliament is made up at the moment. Even if every member of the Tory Party abstained there are still many more missing.

The government were asking only their cabinet ministers to abstain as it was a backbencher debate only.

Limpy, Well done on the bittern photographs but if I pick a favourite, I do like the otters the best.

I'm glad you like them but it's a stoat not an otter.  Sorry.

  • I have just heard that little Alisa is going to have her bone marrow transplant on 27th March.

I'm not sure about my messaging skills, I replied to a PM on here but it looked as if I sent it to myself???!!!

Regarding the knife in the washing machine, MARGO may have solved the problem. We were chatting on the phone today and she asked me if I had put a tablecloth in the wash. NOW, thinking on it, I did, but the knife appeared in a later wash. As I said to MARGO, it probably found itself in the rubber seal and magically reappeared later. Must check the seal for damage and hope for the best ---

OH busy outside this afternoon, but has lost a hacksaw since new garage was erected. He is looking at me with a beady eye, but - Not Guilty Your Honour. (I was heavily involved in getting rid of hoarded items in the old garage).
