Thought it sensible to create a new thread where we can keep each other abreast of which Ospreys have returned to the Public sites. Please don't post any information on non protected locations

Good morning Alan and thanks for the above. I think they are going to have to start to learn to fish soon but what a lot they still have to learn.

Sue C: The names are.....
The three birds, named Jemima, Fred and Ozzy........we need to match the names to the rings though?

They didn't match names to rings, either on the RSPB site or the Forestry Commission blog, so I didn't put the names on my spreadsheet of known ring IDs. It was the same at Kielder, who also had a naming competition, where I took 2 of the ring IDS off photos of the ringing, but couldn't get the 3rd.
As these sites don't have any interactivity, a webcam or satellite tracking, I think the naming competitions were just for short term publicity purposes - I'm pretty sure the names will never be mentioned again, even if the birds show up at some point.

Thanks Alan we wish her a safe journey and return next year.
Just heard through Alison on Facebook that all 3 chicks at Wigtown Bay fledged successfully. So that means that all 32 chicks that were being followed on the nesting calendar have fledged.
Thanks Alan such good news and 32 more ospreys in the world for now. Hope that many of this year's chicks do migrate successfully although we do know it is a hazardous time for them.
