Our male osprey at #lochofthelowes is still courting his new female friend - will his regular mate turn up and will there then be fireworks?

I have just returned from LotL and I can also report that Laddie is continuing his philandering ways !! He spent most of the time sitting on the flat top tree atop his wee pile of sticks( you couldn't call it a nest) some of which he has removed from the original nest. There was, apparently, a female there yesterday who has moved on, but there is another one today and I did see him attempt to mate once. It was thought there may be a ring on one of these females but it was too far away to be certain. Before we left this afternoon he brought a fish to the new pile of sticks but no female had appeared before we left. He did pay a fleeting visit to the original nest probably to check his missus hadn't returned and caught him out lol!! If and when Lady returns it is thought (and hoped) he will return to the nest, but, hey, they are ospreys so who can tell what will happen. Fingers crossed !!!
