Birdies LG DU update.
Maya looks so peaceful at the moment in the sunshine you wouldn't think anything was wrong
Well sad as I think it is I guess it is survival of the fittest and if 33 proves to be better at defending the nest that Blue 28, then so be it. Given at EJ laid four eggs last year after Odin took umbrage, could Mrs 5R/Maya lay more if 33 is accepted as the MB male?
Maya has left the nest once again.

Shiela - I used the words - "hopefully starts again if that is possible" as am not sure if there was a change in male ownership if she could start all over again and if so how many eggs could she re-lay.
I would assume any new male owner would discard these eggs.
Maybe Tiger can answer our queries about this point.
Again only speculating an outcome.
do we know when maya last had fish though anyone please?
I don't think Maya has eaten since the fish she had yesterday morning.
Respect yourself, respect the world :-D
thank you WV sUSAn thats what I thought :( I guess when she needs fish she will just have to leave the eggs and fetch her own :(
If 28(10) would get back in the game here, that would be great. I hope he is ok. If 28 is not ok or unable to provide and defend, Maya is wasting her precious breeding time. I'd like to see 33(10) get on in here and make some eggs of his own. With that said, 33(10) is no more mature than 28(10), but he seems much more aggressive.

And as you point out we do not know 33 (11),s form apart from his aggression.
Oh if these eggs were to be booted out right now, then a second clutch is well possible.
In 2005 Henry booted the eggs on 25th April but EJ sulked and disappeared for nine days. When Henry went and brought her back no amount of fish could persuade her to lay a second clutch.
In 2007 Henry booted the eggs on 22 April and EJ did lay a second clutch of 3 eggs but it did not work out.
See Henry's Cracking Return and Settling in and Henry the Eight I am I am
and a somewhat confused video about the second clutch

The only problem is Maya does not seem inclined to accept his advances at present, obviously busy protecting the eggs that are likely non viable.
