Birdies LG DU update.
Ah that is sad for Maya, but at least the birds are alive and uninjured. If the eggs do fail lets think positively to next year, albeit sad for Rutland
18.10 she has been off and back again, and has mantled on the edge of the nest - but the cam has frozen for me....
Right is it back again, but sadly Maya is off.

And returned but I don't think the intruder (??33(11) I wonder) has given up yet.
Oh dear, this is quite upsetting in many ways, but Maya has taken off once more.

Do you not think that 33 (11) thinks that it is him who should be the new male in residence at Manton Bay?

I have been wondering now for 3 days, what is it he wants. Is it the nest, or the nest & Maya?

Is there a shortage of nests at Rutland, or just too many ospreys?

I think it is more of a case that ospreys like to take over active nests than go and build their own especially one with a resident female.
yes Tiger I do think it should be him. he has been very persistent and the situation reminds me slightly of how monty tried to chase glesni away last year. although there were no eggs and I regret that any eggs maybe affected. but if he is this determined he maybe a better male for Maya. time will tell
I think the best thing now for this nest is that some other male takes over and boots these eggs out and hopefully starts again if that is possible.
If Blue 28 returns we will have a repeat of what happened at LOTL - the female sitting on dead eggs for 70 days.
I totally 100% agree with Tiger - "I think it is more of a case that ospreys like to take over active nests than go and build their own especially one with a resident female".
