Birdies LG DU update.
Thanks for posting the link to the new blog Alan.
Nice to see that the centre will be open on 17 March, I take it that the webcam will be up and running at that time too.
Would hate to miss 5R thudding down on the nest!
EDIT: I am hoping that he might do what he did in 2012 when he arrived back on 18th March! :-)

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
PATILY - 08(01) left on Autumn Migration 2012 and just did not return to Rutland 2013 leaving 30(05) a single female osprey at her nest and she did not have any luck in pairing off in time to breed. There was some interest in one of the unattached males but was too late.
So no suspicious circumstances regarding 08(01).
The birds that went AWOL under suspician at Rutland were 08(97) a nest N breeding male who went missing in 2011. One of its chicks was hatched under artificial incubation and placed in Nest O - I would love to see this chick arrive back some day.
Also 32(05) - non breeding male went missing in 2010.
Alao 06(00) - male went missing also in 2010. Previously bred at Nest O in 2009.
Hi Keith, a couple of minor corrections 32(05) had appeared to pair the previous summer with the Osprey we now know as Mrs 5R, she only moved to Manton Bay when she returned to find 32(05) absent, it would have been interesting to have discovered what would happened if 32(05) hadn't disappered (I seem to recollect from the time that he was one of Alan's favourite birds??)
06(00) was the partner of the Argyll female at site O, they had 3 young in 2009. When 06(00) disappeared at the start of 2010 AA(06)/AW(06) took over the nest & paired with the Argyll female. 03(09) is currently the male at this nest.
32(05) was my favourite bird at the time. I used to watch him on Lagoon 4. 5R was in Manton Bay but mrs 5R preferred 32(05) at that time.

I think it was only last year that lagoon 4 became a territory again.
