Tee Hee! am sure she is, ask Lmac, they met last August...
Sadly, I think we will miss Katep's ,(on the ground so to speak info), as she has moved, but I do know ,she still has close contact, and hopefully will be back on the threads again.
Good morning Mary and Kate. Good to see the " Early Breakfast Club' getting in practice!. CHOL.
Birdies LG DU update.
Kate P is in the first standing row, third from the left. She was a pleasure to meet back in May.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thank You Clare.

Thanks for the latest blog alert SK2. Will have to wait and see what happens, will he, won't he, whatever Blue YD decides to do I hope he stays safe that is the most important thing.
Hmm counting on my fingers I thought Rothiemurchus will be 5 this coming spring LOL....
Thanks Kate and Thank You to Emma. Will he / Won't he/ Maybe. LOL
Mary, Emma did make me go and check that my memory wasn't that bad !! Rothiemurchus, ( 2009 ). I must admit, I hadn't seriously thought that Rothiemurchus would settle at LotL. so another Will he/ Won't he / Maybe. LOL
So how many ospreys came back as 2 year olds?
Well I can think of two that came back as one year olds, viz 06 (01) at Rutland and the young Scottish bird spotted at Rutland in 1997.
Then there was 8 (97) and 3 (97), 05 (00), 06 (00), 5R (04), 5N (04), 30 (05), 32 (05). In fact there are so many that have come back as two year olds it is hard to list them all.
Other notable ones are Nimrod (Red 7J) who intruded at Loch Garten in August 2003.
Blue 12 gave young Ceulan a scare in 2012
then there was Blue 24
In fact it is hard to think of birds that did not come back as 2 year olds.
08 (01) was not seen for five years. 03 (08) better known as Nora was not spotted until she arrived at Dyfi in 2011.
I would bet that Blue YD will be heading north in May 2014.
In 2011 I did this thread. On What Date will Rothiemurchus and Rothes Move North?
This is just some of the birds that came back as two year olds. There are an awful lot more.
Also from page 107 "Life of Ospreys" by Roy Dennis
Most young ospreys remain in Africa or southern Europe during their fi rst summer but, as I have mentioned, we have now recorded two one-year-old ospreys returning to England. It is probable that the majority of two-year-old ospreys return to the United Kingdom and Europe during the summer and some may go north to stray into the nesting grounds. We have only recorded one case of a two-year-old bird breeding, and that was the young female which returned and bred successfully at Rutland Water in 2003.
