Saturday lunch with Daus & appendages is over. LittleMiss, encouraged by her mum, busily handed out gifts to others before she started on hers. Then as she opened each there was a surfeit of Wow's as she discarded wrapping paper and discovered yet another treasure. Temp today is mid-20s but humid. 2 more books to read one on Edwardian England, the other French churches.
My 2 new desserts were a success. Here's a pic before I added a scoop of icecream to the Raspberry-filled Molten Chocolate Cupcakes. Delish. The White Chocolate & Blueberry trifle was divine, even if I say so myself.
Sounds like you had a great day, Aquilareen - I love the way you refer to your daughters and appendages! Your desserts sound absolutely yummy, particularly the Raspberry Filled Molten Chocolate Cupcakes! Somebody needs to invent teleportation - fast.
Annette, what is the temperature there at the moment?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I just had a leftover cupcake for tea (after healthy salad, I may add). With cream instead of icecream, it was just as divine. Now I have to wait for a wee while before I continue munching what's left of my Xmas choccies.
JSB that would have been a scary place for those stranded drivers, stuck on a motorway in the darkness. I hope they were rescued quickly. I hope your home is undamaged when you get back.
ALAN Bowie's had a good Christmas I see!!
There's a new Blog from Mike.
Hello Everyone. I have to catch up on all your Christmas news and pics yet. We arrived home last night after a 12 hour journey. Many problems on the trains because of power failures, rail blockages, restricted speed, all caused by the weather. Looked at the garden this morning to find very many, very large thick tree branches and a large fallen tree lying right behind our bottom fence. It doesn't seem to have damaged the fence though. We had a lovely Christmas and even went to see a pantomime, Aladdin.
Must go and try to catch up with your news now.
Margo, A Very Belated, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
I have read all this weeks posts !!! Please forgive me for not replying :-))
Glad to see that you all survived the storm. Had to laugh at OG's improved tv picture because of the twisted aerial.
Heather, Loved my image of you playing the tambourine. We cheated with the midnight Mass. We went to one at 5.30pm, Christmas eve, for children and those who had to work.
Linda , Loved your poems and snow pics.
Paul (Heron) Lovely to see a couple of posts from you. Hope you are happy in your 'new' job.
So nice to see posts from some Lurkers. Please join in with us.
I hope you made it home safely, JSB and found that all is well at home. My son and his wife have cancelled driving down today, until tomorrow.
AQ, Lovely pic of LM and those cup cakes and trifles look so delicious. Only one problem with not being at home for Christmas, there are no left overs in the fridge !!!
Thanks for all your cards and Pics. I have so enjoyed looking at them and reading your holiday comments.
So pleased to hear from Brenda - its been so bad travelling this week, we have been wondering how everyone has been managing. Glad you have had a pleasant holiday. Also wondering how jsb has been getting on, and if all is alright on reaching home at last.
We have waved goodbye to our guests, and put away the last of our presents. Quite a few DVD's now waiting to be watched, including my OH's new one of Andre Rieu giving a Christmas Concert. Will watch this shortly and see if we can find some more chocolate!
