Good morning, all, and welcome to the new month's thread. I imagine we'll have to wait and see whether Glesni has actually gone - if she has, she can look back on a season where she has every right to feel very proud of herself!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
We have to leave soon.

Some really lovely pictures of the Dyfi family today. Thank you.
Monty is so lovely, isn't he.
Tiger thinks the girls will be here another month, but I don't
Have either of the girls looked wet to you today?

OK, sorry TIGER - you said ''may well be here ......''
The question of when Clarach and Cerist will leave us is an interesting one as we have little or no data to go on.
Today is day 67 for Clarach..
Now young ospreys have migrated at 79 days. Thus the migration window will open on 15 September.
I think that the likelihood is that these birds will migrate at around 22 September. However that could well be dependent on the weather.
A lot depends on how long Monty stays around.
Has there ever been a case at a nest where the last parent leaves before the juveniles are ready?
Its been a long summer for Monty supplying food to all the females! Have been wondering if he will stick around to see them away first. His instincts to go must be very strong surely?
Monty is looking extremely gorgeous in the sunlight:
