Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), Sunday 1 September 2013

HAPPY NEW WEEK AND NEW MONTH!

Last week's Weekly Chat thread is HERE. The code for this week's Weekly Chat thread is 010913 (in case you ever want to find it from the search box).

  • A quick Good Morning to you ALL. Another lovely sunny day here.

Busy in the garden this morning and all the washing is done.

  • Good afternoon, all!  It's been a beautiful, sunny day on the Suffolk coast.  I haven't been out in it too much as I went for a nice swim earlier - Helen joined me as she doesn't go back to school until Wednesday.  I've got into the habit of weighing myself after my swim and when I did so today I was shocked to discover I'd lost three and a half pounds in the last week!  I'm really pleased with myself.  To cap this happy picture I got home and brought all the washing in and no birds had desecrated it in any way!!  Result.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Morning all: Quick look in; watching Diana Nyad's progress and wondering if dibnlib has considered stringing all those lengths in the pool together for an attempt on the record?  :-)

Clare: The "ahem" before I my (claimed) age was supposed to be a clue  that the figure was way, way short of the reality, but you're right, 45 is very young and gets even younger the further you are on the far side of it!  :-))  Congrats on the weight loss - I'm very jealous right now.

AQ: Oh dear, I have one of those colorful roosters in my back garden; not my usual style, but couldn't resist it (especially at the very, very low price).  Just a bit of whimsy....

Diane: The gym opened this morning after its annual clean up, so plan to celebrate Labor Day by dragging my derriere over there.

Have been dilly-dallying this morning and need to do some work on the computer before I head off...

    Take care all.

  • Clare, lovely GSW pics but I presume that tree is dead, with all the bare branches. Our GSW's never leave and have brought their two young to the feeders, which we were thrilled to see.

  • Don't be jealous, Annette - I still weigh over 200 pounds, though at least now it's only just over instead of considerably over.

  • Still working in the garden !! Thought you might like to see one of my hanging baskets. They really have been lovely this year.

  • Thanks, Brenda - I like that very much!  A very colourful display.

  • CLARE, How is LIMPY. Has he had news of further appointments yet.

  • He has a blood test tomorrow, a doctor's appointment on Wednesday, another doctor's appointment Friday next week and a hospital appointment later this month.  Phew.

He's not too bad but he tires very easily at the moment.

  • We do know that you will certainly look after him, CLARE. Best wishes and {{hugs}} to LIMPY>
