Hi all: Lots of news about ospreys and other stuff plus photos (if you're lucky!) on the previous pages.

And, when you do, she will expect a free copy. LOL. Oh dear, food poisoning. I hope you are back on the treadmill soon.
Morning all. Another sunny morning here and daylight time is increasing, today will be 5min longer than yesterday (11h47min). Thanks for wishing me warmer temps Margobird, AQ, Cirrus, it will be warmer bit by bit. In the end of this week daytime temps will probably be plus something, yea!
OG, it`s only about half hour drive by motor/freeway to my mum`s, and yes we had a nice time yesterday.
Diane, thanks for that truck cam tip. And I dot think you are grouch, you are definitely Finnish LOL. We just love our privacy here and are often described sulky etc by foreigners
Have a nice day everybody!

AQ, `bout the SA history, been enjoying a lot reading it, thanks. Finland was back then under the rule of Russia (we were ruled either by them or Sweden through years and got our independence as late as 1917) so the Finnish deserters were called Russian Finns, I think..
Morning all Couldn't resist using a few megabytes to report the first primroses, not planted by me, blooming in our garden. Saw no sign of flowers last week and now there are two or three - Spring is definitely on the way!
Morning all! Missed writing last night, but did read. We had lunch while out shopping – Spring Special price, so had our main meal then and just a salad in the evening. Was 12°C underlying temp, but with wind-chill again – looks similar today. OH is preparing to revisit his dentist this morning.
Alan – no wonder I miss some of the sources of info – I keep clear of FB and similar social networking sites wherever possible – other than this one which feels safe! Pleased to see your reports of more arrivals. Loved the three bobbleheads picture – and it seems to be holding there too.
Margobird – I hope this will be your lucky year for a Bluetit nest in your box.
Gary – lovely to read that you are planning for the Mums to visit this year – will they be coming together or will you have to do all the trips out twice? What is it about hairdressers? Both men and women on here seem less than keen to go – and I always see it as a necessity to be endured!
Annette – I know I am a grouch when it comes to all things social and sociable – maybe this is connected with the hairdresser chore thing too! And I grouch about the expense of prom dresses and stretch limos for kids parties ..and weddings in exotic places …and …you can imagine the rest! So, all ironing done – better not do any more laundry for a while! Pleased you saw some of the whales this week. Loved your expression re Grandson “cluttering up the computer and decluttering the refrigerator!”
AQ – sorry you are still getting unseasonably warm days. Hen Nights with booze and silly stuff happen here too – another grouch coming on. The WW1 involvement of Aussie troops was something we did learn about at school!
Patriciat – sorry you are having to ration your time online – just don’t go away! Enjoy your primroses!
Cirrus – good to see you again – keep smiling!
Diane – sorry it was food poisoning – not nice. Crocuses are a good subject to photograph from above – just as well, as I can’t get down to their level. Most of my own gardening efforts are at the greenhouse bench or in containers lifted up onto a low wall where I can reach them – but if I do my bit with those, it encourages OH to do some “real gardening”!
Auntie – pleased you had a good time with your Mum – nice that she lives near. Best that spring thaw comes gradually – less danger of flooding.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
I love this pic. I have not seen anything like it before.

It is from Marie Wynn's blog. See http://www.mariewinn.com/marieblog/
I was looking to see if there was any mention of Lola (Pale Male's OH) having laid eggs. No mention of it at all. Over a week late now. Maybe it is the bad winter.
Ah it is discussed here. See http://mariewinnnaturenews.blogspot.com/
Oh it looks that there are eggs now according to that second report. So all good wishes to Pale Male and Lola. What excitement it after five barren years they are successful in hatching little ones.
All good wishes to this wonderful pair and to Lincoln their incomparable photographer.

Normal 0 false false false Normal 0 false false false Tiger thank you for the link to info on Pale Male and Lola – Do we know how old Male Pale is? Great picture of snow bird! My daffs are up and the flowers have begun to open !– My garden bluebells (not real bluebells) and my white hyacinths are up but no flowers yet. I look forward to the flowers opening. I do have miniature iris flowering. My winter pansies are flowering again having come through the winter and the forsythia is in yellow tip !! Hello to you all – here’s wishing you a really good day. Is the sun shining where you are? It is here after a foggy start. I have no idea how I am producing the underline and colour. I've tried CTRL U. It won't turn off and it's not on in Word eithter. Sigh.
