HAPPY NEW WEEK!!!
Here's a link to last week's Weekly Chat thread. The code for this week's Weekly Chat is WC250813 (in case you ever want to search for it from the search box).
I was away most of last week, and I think it's too late for me to get caught up on replies. I have read all of your news and have loved all the photos! I enjoyed the report and pics from AQ's most recent trip (yay, ducks! And loved that pelican, also the big trees). Wonderful photos from Mulberry and NiteOwl (lilies are one of my very, very favorite flowers; yours are super lovely!). Beautiful dragonfly from Alicat. I really loved the very majestic photos from Lindy -- ducks and deer! Woo hoo! That's an especially beautiful species of deer. Beautiful hibiscus from Alan. Love your increasingly subversive signatures, Alan. LOL! Glad that Mulberry saw an osprey! Happy belated birthday to Jess.Glad that Cerist at Dyfi has been found! Nice to see Mike posting here. Brenda: Are you glad or relieved to say good-bye to the puppy? LOL OG: Hope your sparrow hawk was okay after the window strike! Thanks for posting the excellent photos of handsome Diesel, handsome George, and your own beautiful self!Nice to see Lynette. I hope you have a grand holiday in Austria.I hope that Limpy is feeling better!I'm so very glad that Margo has had good results from the chemo. Sending good energy to you, Margo.Everyone have a great week! It's Indian Summer here and the temperatures this week will be 90 - 100 F (32.2 - 37.7 C) with very high humidity. Yuck.
Evening all: Sounds like we were all out in the garden yesterday. I came in before it got too warm; hosed myself down and went off for impromptu lunch with good (Brit) friend today, then helped her spend money on an outfit for an upcoming trip to the UK (lots of fun and no guilt!).
OG: Hope the eye problem clears up quickly - for good this time. The oranges are especially sweet this year; I already delivered some to the neighbors. Have those driveway people ever shown up???
NiteOwl: Aaack! No chance of getting an electric shock from cutting through that cable then? Those things scare me (we don't have any; I just whack away with handshears).
Lynette: Glad you're doing better but I forgot what happened with your OH's leg?
AQ: We've had a cooler than normal summer and I noticed today that some of the Liquidamber (sweet gum) trees on our street are already turning, which mean Fall must be lurking offstage.....
Diane: That's a lovely shot of the Tanager for Margo. How are you doing back there? I heard some of the schools in the Midwest closed down due to the heat. Any signs of Fall in your neck of the woods?
Finished reading John Le Carre's latest book, A Delicate Truth, today. He's one of my very favorite writers - brilliant with dialogue. Trouble is, how long will I have to wait for his next book!
Off to bed, take care everyone.
OG Sorry to hear your eye is giving you grief. I have my appt at the hospital on Monday. Hopefully they will tell me they will go ahead with the cataract op and may even give me a date.
OH has now taken Dillon to the vet. Dillon is still saying "Mum, where is my breakfast" Still quite subdued this morning but happily went on his walk.
LYNETTE Glad to hear things are looking good.
DIANE What a beautiful bird.
And finally, this is for ALAN
In all seriousness, they could do with culling. There are way too many MPs
Not an owl.
