Weekly Chat (non-Osprey) Sunday, August 18, 2013

Morning all!

  • Hope the juve osprey makes it - it could be from Rutland, lets hope it was.

  • Hi, all. I just got back from Indianapolis. I stayed longer than anticipated and arrived home late this evening. I'll catch up later.

I did notice that Limpy has been ill. I just wanted to wish him a quick and complete recovery. My thoughts are with you, Limpy. Sending you good energy.

I also saw that Margo has been logged on. Best wishes to you, Margo! You're in my thoughts.

  • Evening all!  Aaack! I can't keep up with the posts.  I assume we'll be seeing more folks now the osprey season is on the wane. I've only been looking in on the cam this year; seem to have been awfully busy with all kinds of everyday stuff.  I really am going to rethink my priorities in the coming months; seem to be spinning my wheels a lot.

Clare: Thanks for letting us know about Limpy's quick trip to the ER;  smart to take him to be checked out.  Thanks for sharing your day at Titchwell.

Limpy: Good to see you. Hope you got a good night's sleep and that you don't have to wait too long for that referral

NiiteOwl: The flowers are gorgeous! Thank you from all of us (I'm sure I'm typing for everyone.)  :-)  I've been using Google Chrome a lot lately, but I think the basic problem is that my computer is now three years old.

OG: Yum-yum gingerbread. I can believe it's been that long since you've been tracking down the family tree; maybe you'll have more time when the clocks go back.

Mike: I'm sure you've been on this thread before - but hallo again!

Alan: Lovely pix for Margo - very thoughtful of you. Assume that video is aimed at kiddies?

dibnlib: Eeeek. Don't like the sound of dogs going missing! Has anyone alerted the local authorities?

Lynette: Hmmm - assume you'll be enjoying Strauss waltzes and delicious chocolate in Austria (as opposed to rugby games). I can get behind that. :-) Have a lovely dinner out Saturday; congrats on the anniversary. How thoughtful of your daughter to offer to (I assume) be the "designated driver."

Diane: Welcome home; catch up when you can.

I'm off to LA tomorrow (driving daughter down to meet g'daughter who's treating daughter to an early b'day get together with a mutual friend). I'll then head farther south to see another friend for a night; then back to LA to spend evening with the "girls" before g'daughter flies back to AZ Sunday and daughter and I head back home.  Can't understand why such a short time away requires so much organizing of things here at home....

Anyway, will take laptop and will try to look in.

Take care everyone.  And special hugs to Margo.

  • Annette: Have a WONDERFUL and safe wee holiday!

    For Margo and Limpy, too!

  • Good morning, all.  Diane, what a beautiful picture!  Limpy is sure to love the flamingoes - they're so elegant, as well as adorably pink.

It's chucking it down with rain here today - I'm not going to complain as we've had some beautiful weather here and we could all do with some moisture on our lawns and gardens.  The birds are enjoying the rain - it has looked relatively busy on our feeders, which is always good to see.  A few starlings have been coming down, the usual tits are about and a young jackdaw has had a good scoff.  I'm just waiting for Limpy the Crow to decide that there are too many wood pigeons lurking about and to have a good fly about!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  •       ~     For Limpy & Clare, and of course, Margo...

Hope you feel better today, all.

  • Good Morning:  Lots more posted lately, after a few quieter days of late.  Sunny start here so hard to think its raining on others!

I was busy yesterday as my OH agreed to go shopping, which is something he hates really.  Bought exciting things like bedsheets and groceries, then went into M & S for a new bra, and found there was a Sale on:  came back with trousers for me, shorts for him, and even a sunhat!  Everything fits OK which makes a nice change as usually I buy stuff in there and then take half of it back later on.  Oh, and I got the bra, too ;-)

  • ps.  My OH sat in the car listening to the radio whilst I trotted around M&S - better that way!!

  • Over 60 hair traps have been taken by the pixies in Glos cull zone.

  • Lynette:  Happy Anniversary!!  Hope the meal is as good as anticipated.  Its lovely to go somewhere you know you are going to enjoy.  And such a luxury to be driven back, later.

Annette:  Off again, visiting...  Hope you have a great trip and enjoy.  You do seem to be busy, so should perhaps pace yourself, tho I find that some people prefer to have a full calendar and feel a bit lost if its not.

Limpy & Clare:   I did read yesterday, but did not have much time for writing replies. You have both been in my thoughts. Hope the good ol' NHS can come up with some answers.

Diane:  What a great picture.  You seem to have survived once again sleeping 'in a big pile of dogs'  !  so expect you'll be glad to be back in your own bed again.

Alan:  What a beautiful Hibiscus pic.  Good to know that so many people actively care about the badgers.
