HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Weekly Chat thread is HERE.

The code for this new week's thread is WC040813 (in case you ever need to search for it from the search box).

  • Meant to say, it is a health weekend for us. A routine hosp appt for me today - Dillon has his MOT tomorrow and I am at the dentist for a check up on Monday, deep joy!!!

  • Yay for Buzz!!!!!!!!

It does sound like the growth was a tooth-related abscess, which means it won't pose any ongoing threat. I'm so glad for you and your OH, Lindy.

  • Lindy, wonderful news!  We're so pleased for you all, especially Buzz!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Thanks, All.  Buzz is a bit wobbly but is sleeping on the floor in his usual place, next to where my OH sits.  All went well and we go back for a check on him on Monday.

We have not asked for an analysis of the growth, as our logic is that whether it was something nasty or not, it may or may not return, & at his age there is not much that can be done about it.

I have occupied myself by cleaning out the Big Cupboard in the kitchen: the one where things get shoved when they don't qualify for the other cupboards. I found my Mum's old icing nozzles- memories of old time birthday parties with iced cake!  Then I found the instruction leaflet for my bread maker machine, which has been missing for ages - I gave the machine to our Youngest as theirs had broken, but had to apologise for the lack of instructions. Also a great many bits of old towels & teatowels , kept as they make good polishing cloths etc. There are far too many of them so I must be strong and sort them out, then fight everything back into the cupboard. ;-))

  • Good luck with that, Lindy!

  • LINDY   Didn't say before, but with Fingal it turned out to be Lymphoma. We were told chemo could give him an extra 6 months but we said no. He was 13 years old and still lived a great and full life till we took him to the vet for the final time at 13 years and 8 months. We finally scattered him at Loch an Eilein with no regrets at our decision.

  • That must have been tremendously sad but I think you did the right thing, Dibnlib.

  • Lindy so pleased Buzz has come through his op ok, I think the vet can usually tell if a growth maybe anything to worry about, they usually like to send off for analysis if they're not sure. I think you're doing the right thing, it may have been the bad tooth, you both must be so relieved to have him home, they always recover better at home :-)

I think we all have shove it here cupboards, most of mine are like that, as are the spare bedrooms, I really need a spring clean badly! Lol ...

dibnlib It must have been a bad time for you, but you did your best at putting the care of Fingal fisrt.  All the best with Dillon's m.o.t tomorrow, and your dental appointment next week.

    Wishing everyone a happy W/end :-)

Sorry about Fingal, dibnlib - he must have had a good life with you. We are aware that Buzz is getting to the end of his years and are determined that he should have a quality of that life. Just watching great programme about the elephants in Srl Lanka.
  • LINDA - pleased all went smoothly.  I hope Buzz settles well tonight to sleep off the anaesthetic.  I hope you have a quiet weekend planned.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
