Hi, all. I will catch up with everyone tomorrow and post replies. Everyone have a good Monday. My best wishes to Margo.
Annette/Alan: In a city less than an hour's drive southwest of me, officials became concerned that corporations involved in oil/gas extraction would begin full-scale fracking operations there, which would have contaminated groundwater, agricultural land, and the Wabash River. I was really worried that they would initiate continuous earthquake swarms like the ones in Arkansas and other heavily fracked locations. My old cottage house would have been vulnerable if they created seismic instability here. Luckily, that city is more discerning than most of Indiana, and thus far the council has banned fracking.
Lovely morning, so off to the canal with Dillon again.
Good grief, no one on the site for the past 7 hours!!!!
We enjoyed our morning walk.
First pic is Jacobite Queen which takes paying customers on cruises to Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness. The second is "The Seagull" ready and waiting for special needs people to board and enjoy a free trip. How good is that.
Lovely pic dibnlib - I tried posting at about 11am but it booted me off mid-post grrr...
I had to sign in again. With this weekly need to sign in, no chance of me forgetting my password!
Hi, all. Exhausted and going to bed early tonight. Will catch up in the morning. Seems like lots of people are having site problems.
Good thoughts to Margo and Patricia.
I was pulling stinging nettle weeds with leather gloves on yesterday evening. I was reaching under the plants to pull up the roots and came up with a snake in my hand! LOL Lovely silvery green creature about 2 feet long. He slithered on his way unharmed.
Everyone have a good Tuesday.
Evening all: Another busy day: did laundry this morning, then some necessary "home business" paperwork for a couple of hours; then got out vacuum cleaner and gave house what my Mum would call "a cat's lick and a promise," then out into the garden for a couple of hours of trimming; more of that tomorrow. Needless to say, leftovers for dinner (poor OH), but overall a very productive day. Hurray! (Will grill chicken and veggies on the BBQ for OH tomorrow.)
dibnlib: Lake outings are so relaxing; did you ride on one of the boats? As you said, very quiet on here today. Hope everyone had a good day out and about.
Diane: Almost trod on a snake while walking across the grass at my daughter's house the other week; those creatures can really move when they get going! Not sure what kind it was....
Weather still cool here, but great for getting things done. Cloudy in the morning for "house" stuff; sunny in the afternoon for outside work!
Have a good Tuesday everyone.
MULBERRY glad that wasn't my washing machine!!! I remember years ago we bought a tv and when it arrived we reckoned someone had tried tossing the caber with it (now I know they had been rolling it in bubblewrap!!!) They second and third were the same. We settled for the 4th.
DIANE That must have given you a shock.
Good Morning, and Hi to dibnlib and anyone else still online.
I'm back, and filling up the w. machine, as usual. Read some of the posts whilst away but unable to reply: bad signal again and also I have had to sign in (again!!).
Just going to get dressed before anyone catches me in my d. gown, then I will be back here.....
Well, I'm finally back, after fielding a whole lot of phone calls...
We've had a pleasant time and not done much, just walked around a little, and ate a nice carvery meal on Sunday to save on cooking anything ourselves. Went to visit my OH's Nephew and his family who also have a caravan, along the coast: they were pleased to see us and the youngsters were very impressed by my OH's skills... "Ooooh, Uncle can do the Cube!!!!" (the Rubicks cube, that is: he learned to do it years ago and keeps in practice in case he forgets)
Have enjoyed all your posts and pictures: lovely ones above, dibnlib. I think I saw that one called the 'Seagull' on TV once, its a great idea.
Here are a couple more from the Flower Show, might make you smile, as I missed doing a Monday Smile yesterday.
Wouldn't like to meet this Biker on the road!! (he's made entirely from scrap but cost thousands of pounds to buy, no wonder,it must have taken an age to build him)
