Daily Update (Loch Garten Nest) Sunday 7th July 2013

Here's to another day in the LG saga :-)  Breagh and Oighrig are roosting peacefully at the moment.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • We have speed at last

    Every egg a bird

  • Good morning, everyone!  EJ the Beautiful doesn't seem at all fazed at the idea of being the only female in this year's family.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • EJ is calling, quite insistently.

  • She's flown.

  • I was just thinking how strange it was that we're now a week into July and EJ hasn't brought a fish yet.  Then it occurred to me that she laid four eggs instead of the usual three - I wonder if it's taken a little more out of her than it appears.

She's now back on the nest doing some H/W:

  • EJ has flown again

  • Fifteen minute ago I wrote the following, pressed the button and waited.  Eventually I closed the tab and reopened.  Grrr.  So here goes again

Morning all.  Another bright and sunny day at LG.

CC - I see we fully agree on who is W and who is M, but, as you suggest, we now need the clear shot of the ring numbers!!

One question (which shouldn't be asked here I know) but how do you 'favourite' a thread - I want to do that for yesterday.

EJ has now flown off and M&W are doing the usual thing of lying down to watch!  I wonder whether it is because they are male that they are so passive!

EJ returned with a large forked stick. Dropped that and found another to move around.

Since then, EJ has flown once more.

I wonder whether it is because Odin has been bringing in sufficient food?  O&B have never been over-demanding, indeed often slow at getting up to accept food.I just remember how Bynack used to scream for more fish now!  We have had none of that this year....yet!

  • Good Morning ALL.

Extremely quiet on the nest but lovely to see such a lovely summers day.

I was hoping one of you would have cleaned the camera lense overnight LOL
