Morning all; jsb: Thanks for info on Google Earth street views! Patriciat: Loved the story of your friend's Crufts success with the little rescue dog. Was talking to a man and his dog at the rose garden the other day; he'd got it from the SB Humane Society, where it had been for three years!! They don't destroy them there and keep them as long as they need. Then, another rose garden volunteer and I noticed an unleashed German Shepherd (Alsatian to UK folks?) roaming the garden; apparently belonging to two young people who'd were fast asleep on the grass. The other lady said she'd been watching for two hours and they'd been totally ignoring the dog, whose ribs were showing and had open sores on its back; also a tail constantly between its legs. It kept coming up to people but then appeared indifferent when you went to pet it. We debated, then called the Humane Society, who sent out a vehicle, but the guy only ticketed the kids for having an unleashed dog in the park. So then the boy went and sat in the car with the dog - got water for himself but not the dog - and after another hour they left. Makes you wonder.....
Must get some serious computer stuff done before I goof off today; back later! Take care all.
Annette: How can anyone mistreat a dog? What's wrong with people?!? You did the right thing by trying to help. I'm proud of you.
