Evening all. Wonderful rainbow over Santa Barbara this afternoon; more like April with heavy showers then sunshine. Don't forget to check last week's chat for Tiger's link to the Roy Dennis site about a French osprey that's already completed its migration, and Patriciat's recommendations for places to eat in Grantown (for when we all go to visit OG's son!). :-)
Greetings All,
Tiger, certainly is terrible news about the eagle. I could rant on but nothing seems to change, no matter how much we shout or how many petitions we sign.
AQ, Thanks for explaining about the ceiling insulation. Once again, another government scheme, which hasn't been researched enough. Aren't our governments just wonderful !! Thank you for yet a further history lesson. The early pioneers certainly were remarkable people. I wonder how many of us today would survive in the same circumstances.
Sun is shining but the wind is cold.
Must catch up with reading more of your chat now.
Margobird - Great news! Ihave been offline due to broadband meltdown since last Wednesday, so today when all was normal again I started tracking back through the posts, realised what you had been going through and trying to find out what was happening with your health. I am so happy for you.
margobird said: Good afternoon to all my friends on this site. It is time to "crack open the bubbly" as after a morning of more mammograms, ulta scans and thorough examinations I have been given the good news that all is OK. It would be wonderful now to have a drink with all of you to say thanks so much for all the positive thoughts and support that has come my way over the past week. You really are a great bunch of people. I woke up this morning feeling anything but positive so you can imagine how relieved I feel now. We have such a lot planned this year in the way of shows, a 6 day break to Venice and 2 weeks away in Cornwall, a place very close to my heart, and I had got to thinking that we would not be able to do any of these things. it is a beautful sunny day although still quite chilly so all is right in my world now. There were quite a few people who had been called back for s second assessment so I am hoping they will get some good news as well. I watched Lily and Hope a lot yesterday and Hope was so funny. At one point she had her bum up in the air and two little feet were waving about. There is a video which they took when Lily left the den for a couple of mintues and my word Hope is just gorgeous. I usually have the link open all the time so I can listen to all the little noises and the snoring which always makes me smile. Terribly sad new about the Golden Eagle in Ireland. How tragic that yet again someone has left poison on what is prey for these magnifcent birds. Just cannot get my head around people like this. they obviously have no love of nature whatsoever. My garden birds are keeping me well amused with their antics at the moment have seen several sparrows flying around with bits of twigs in their beaks so Spring must be on its way. Had a visit from the sparrowhawk again yesterday but she did not catch her meal in my garden. I had been watching quite a lot of birds who all suddenly flew off with little warning whistles and then the reason for their departure became clear. She is a magnificent sight though. Thanks for the clips and links to all. Trying to catch up with things now. Once again thanks and I wish you all the very best in life, you are all certainly worth it. Have a good afternoon.

That's absolutely fantastic news, Margobird. I'm so glad that everything's okay. :-)
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Margobird, Brilliant news. I am so thrilled for you. I am only drinking coffee at the moment, but CHEERS.
Margobird : Great news indeed. I am so pleased for you.
Here is a clip of the Dundedin ospreys taken yesterday by "ploughboy" from Finland. There is a nice musical accompaniment.
