Here I am, awaiting the snow machine to crank up again Sunday afternoon. Expecting 8 to 12 inches new snow on top of 3 or 4 we still have from last storm. Oh bother! Can you tell I'm not very enthused?????
So to pick up from the last of our thread:
Annette: Do tell us how the Pale Male movie was, please.
Some fascinating new news on the Peregrine Falcon front from Derby Cathedral (it's snowing there as I watch at 11:15 p.m. Chicago time) where they've finally let us in on the secret hinted at in the blog from last month.

I believe I'm off for the night now. Happy Sunday to all!
Thanks Patriciat I will try and be positive as well.

Thank you george g I was sorry to read that your late wife suffered with breast cancer. It is worrying but I am thinking positive for now and hoping that it isn't this. Time will drag until I go back to the hospital for some further tests but it is very comforting to know that the very kind people on this forum give so much support.
george g meant to say I will concentrate on our ospreys return but hope they leave it until all the snow has gone,
Margobird : Thanks for the info on the new microphone at Lilys den. The loud hum was so annoying on that cam. There has been a problem at the Valmont GHO nest and the eggs seem to have been abandoned. They think it may have been a territorial fight.
Normal 0 false false false
Auntie I enjoyed the snow pics ! but OH! Alan’s pic of Bodnant Gardens in May
Tiger told me once that you may know the name of the Osprey on the countdown clock. Do you?
Alan – simply a joy to look at . Thank you. And also for the link. I’m very upset with the intruder – he doesn’t look to actually want the nest, just to prevent the resident pair using it. I’m going to be hopping mad if White TF causes a nuisance for EJ. Two eggs in the Two Harbors Eagle nest. Which seems a much better idea to me. Two chicks being MUCH easier to feed than three !!
Thanks Alan but sad news about the Valmont cam.
Margobird, Sorry to hear your news and I fully understand what you mean by wanting/ not wanting to know. You are still in shock by only just getting to know the result and we are all inclined to think of cancer, but often that is not the answer. I send you love and hugs. We are getting the same weather as yourself, the sun is still shining but the wind is strong.
Afternoon all.
Very wet, very windy and very cold here - been raining for more than 24 hours, but thankfully its rain and not snow like northern Scotland.
Margobird - my thoughts and 'big hugs' are with you during the wait for your tests - stay positive! I had yet another blood pressure check with the Dr this morning - still way too high, so she is altering my medication yet again :(( Great news about Lily's microphone too - I love watching her but always had to mute the sound for that dreadful hum. I saw the cub waving its paws around this morning!
Alan - thanks for the info about the Valmont owls - I did wonder why the eggs were uncovered every time I looked. And a beautiful picture too ... roll on Spring!
OG - what beautiful words you said to Diane. I noticed some of the roadside bushes were sprouting a few leaves when I was out this morning.
Cirrus - great to read your posts - birds & twigs - GREAT!!
Diane - sorry to see you so angry - hope you are feeling more like your positive self today
Thanks to everyone else for chat/ info etc
Take care all
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Hi Cirrus, sorry but I do not know her name. Not sure if she has one.
This is from the Black Water Eagle cam earlier today. Fish was bought yesterday by male and you can see a tiny opening on the other egg. Somebody is on its way

Only 2 chicks sighted at the 10:00am feed at Dunedin. They are not sure what has happened to the little one.
