Here I am, awaiting the snow machine to crank up again Sunday afternoon. Expecting 8 to 12 inches new snow on top of 3 or 4 we still have from last storm. Oh bother! Can you tell I'm not very enthused?????
So to pick up from the last of our thread:
Annette: Do tell us how the Pale Male movie was, please.
Some fascinating new news on the Peregrine Falcon front from Derby Cathedral (it's snowing there as I watch at 11:15 p.m. Chicago time) where they've finally let us in on the secret hinted at in the blog from last month.

I believe I'm off for the night now. Happy Sunday to all!
Thanks Tiger for the link and I agree storks do have a tough love attitude to chick rearing. Watched a nest last year when 2 of the chicks passed away.
Margobird
Hi Margobird, Gosh, sorry to hear you are still not feeling great yet. We have managed to stay clear of any bugs yet. What I hear from yourself and others, I certainly don't want to catch any of them ! I agree about the storks. I don't enjoy watching them with their chicks, but can only presume they know what they are doing.
margobird Yes with storks if there is a food shortage, out goes the baby. Also if the wife comes back and finds the husband with a new female it is not pretty. There are shells and yolk everywhere and the husband takes a fair old wigging.
In 2003 there were only 2 streaming wildlife webcams. One was the osprey cam at DPOF and the other a stork cam in Germany called storchenest. See http://www.storchennest.de/en/index_live-video.html
Tiger Signature
I think this was an early "April Fool" by the male eagle on the female. He brings her lunch but it is not much of a feast! See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0TVORBuKdM
Wonderful video Tiger hope there was something more substantial later on. Have to say how these magnificent birds amaze me, surrounded by snow but still doing the job in hand.
Afternoon all from TI,
Tiger : Thanks for the eagle clip. Not a very substantial meal for such a large bird.
Annette : It must have been amazing seeing 9 whales.
OG : I hope that you feel better soon.
Lindybird : When we used to take Hamish to the kennels they liked him so much they did not want him to go home.
The vet phoned yesterday about Hamish to say that the results were back from the lab and that the lump was not cancerous. That was a great relief. Tomorrow I will take him for a final check up on the stitches.
Today Lady P and I went on a shopping mission to Asda in Corby. It is the only place around here that you can get Scottish Plain bread. We had lunch in the cafe before we returned home.
Weather has been dry and cloudy today with a keen wind.
Temp 4.1c , Sunrise 07:00 , Sunset 17:28
Alan that is wonderful news about Hamish, such a relief I bet. Give him a hug for me.
Weather here really depressing today, about the same temperature as you have but we have had rain, snow and sleet this morning.
Afternoon all
I haven't posted for a few days ... my computer has been having hiccups :(( ... just been able to dip in & out quickly. Seems to be sorted today though. Have just come back from having lunch out (not sure I should be telling you that - OG might be counting!!) It was very pleasant in the sunshine, but snow is still lying in the fields.
I have just been catching up on the blog ... too many posts to comment individually, but I hope those who are poorly recover quickly and that Lindybird has a great holiday.
There was a lovely photograph in the Daily Mail today of 3 young owls ... here is the link

Good afternon DjoanS glad your computer has got better. What a terrific photo of the barn owls. Glad you have some sun. We have rain again and it is very cold with it.
