I am awaiting further news from The VAP Team (Valerie, Alison and Pip) once they return from Spain, but I can report that on Saturday morning my mobile was pinging away as excited texts from Valerie piled into my Inbox.  They had met up with Roberto and Manu and had seen Caledonia! They began their search in the dark and saw her leave her roost and drove quickly to the bridge to see her fish. They witnessed her catch a mullet for breakfast, which she promptly dropped!  I believe Valerie did get some photos, but for now I've heard no more from them.

How exciting is that, for them to have seen our Caley! And brilliant to now have Roberto and Manu on the ground out there to keep us posted on her activities. Thanks guys.

The next data on Caledonia will be in on Thursday - but we know where she is, now, obviously - but I'm out of the office for the rest of the week (assuming we can get out through the drifts), so I will be unable to blog you the latest. My colleagues too are unavailable, but we'll write another blog up-date as and when we can.

SOME PICTURES HAVE SINCE JUST ARRIVED FROM VALERIE

The bridge from where Caley was seen by The VAP Team, Roberto and Manu.

Caley's chosen fishing spot and our new-found friend and contact, Roberto.

Showing the stretch of river that Caley frequents to fish. Our girl's quite a townie eh?

What Caley sees on waking up.

My thanks to Valerie for sending these through so promptly........ got to go now.
