The latest on our bird's whereabouts is as follows;

CALEDONIA

She remains an urban osprey and has stayed mostly around the Rio Guadalquivir site but on at least two occasions has apparently returned to the Canal De Alfonso XIII area where she spent a bit of time in September 2012 roosting next to a large industrial complex.  These trips occurred on 9 December when at 08.00 GMT she was flying N over the canal by the Parque De Maria Luisa and on 13 December at 08.00 GMT she was fling S along the Canal and close to her September 2012 roost site.  She was back at the normal Rio Guadalquivir roost area by 16.00 GMT.  She last visited this area in January and April 2013.

BREAGHA

Breagha continues to explore a 40 km2 wetland area some 10 km N of Kabrousse and the Senegal/Guinea Bissau border close to the town of Boukote Ouolof.  This looks like a very productive fishing area.

OIGHRIG

He is still N of Joal Fadiouth and most of the recordings show him in a small area near the coastal town of Ngazobil.  Only one data point shows him actually on the move and that was on 11 December at 09.00 GMT when he was 1.5 km off the coast and travelling NW but he was back at Ngazobil by 17.00 GMT.

Data-Mike will check the next data download on Monday 23rd December.  In the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity, to wish all our supporters, viewers & blog followers out there, a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year ahead. Your support for what we do is very much apprecited.

Have a good one, everybody. Enjoy.

Best wishes, Richard.
