As osprey tracking followers will have noticed, we checked on Rothes' whereabouts yesterday and have up-dated the map.
She has continued journeying north having crossed from Senegal into Mauritania, near Djoudj National Park, before passing up through that country, east of the capital Nouakchott, passing close to the huge wetland reserve of Banc d' Arguin National park. She pressed on north and west to the far north of Mauritania, now on the peninsula border area with Western Sahara. The region has seemingly been beset with sand storms which has prompted Rothes to take avoidance action and head off on a more coastal route. Sensible girl. We'll run further checks in the next day or two and keep you posted.
