A hot bank holiday weekend

I spent a very hot Sunday at Leigton Moss, visiting all the hides. The waders and waterfowl had the best solution to the heat, being in the or on the cool water, whilst us poor humans sweltered in 28 degree heat. Here some of 500 photos I took

Avocet calling frantically for the chicks which has scurried off

A BH gull flying past the Eric Morecambe hide, on the prowl for morsels for its chicks

Black-tailed godwit and a juvenile BH gull

A coot having a quick snack

Mr and Mrs Gadwall having a bit if peace and quiet.

Other highlights were a pair of otters swimming up the water past the causeway hide, but too far away for any good shots, a pair of black terns doing their best to fend whilst warding off the marauding BHG's,

I intend making a further visit, with a bigger lens and hopefully cooler water
